Yeah it's similar to the Fiesta engine, makes just under 160hp out the factory. A manifold and remap will see around 180hp, add cams to get to 200hp and then ITB's for 220ish. Of course there's turbo kits and superchargers for big power, and also a 2.3/2.5 swap from a Mazda 6 which would see a reliable 200hp/200lb-ft (at the expense of a revy engine).
Mid range they're not crazy, not like the new MK4 mx5 anyway, they need revs to get moving but that's all part of the fun IMO. It's been a good few years since I've driven a 1*2 so I can't really compare!

Steering wheel was £150 and IMO worth every penny!

Well, another parcel turned up on Thursday evening. Should sort out my crappy brakes.

Got some Brembo discs, DS2500's and some ATE Typ200 fluid - hopefully be enough for some track action.

On Friday me and @sofaboy ventured down south for him to pick up his Christmas present to himself, and a little something for me..

OZ Leggera in 17x8 ET45. Super light weight, and most importantly they're silver! Don't really like black wheels TBH.

And @Euan94 yeeeeaaa it's a splitter.

Got a sweet new GoPro 5 for Christmas from my parents, did a quick Cold-Start video outside their house to try it out (very dull). I'm well impressed! Video & Audio is a huge improvement over my old Hero 3. Would definitely recommend!

These are quite strangled out the factory, have a cat in the manifold and a cat in the midpipe. Next on my list is a 4-1 manifold and remap, so it'll sound different again!
Think the sound changes a lot depending on the back-box too. I quite like this Cobra one, although it is a little boomy...

Yeah I think both Ford and Mazda both strangle the engine. It's easy to make mine faster but not cheap sadly.

Looks awesome this!! As a Mk1 owner I have so say your Mk1 looked incredible (I think I even saw the for sale add on Mx5Nutz) but this Mk3 is beautiful. I really love the Roadster Coupes and will definitely have to have one at some point.

Well, my wheels nuts finally arrived this morning... All I can say is, I think this is the only time where reality has looked BETTER than the photoshop. Very pleased! Just need to get my RSR's fitted. The AD08's are pretty bald.

Looks Great on the new wheels. Can't remember, have you done anything with the brakes yet? A big break set up and sexy callipers would look ace under the front wheels.

Yes, got a Wilwood little big brake kit for the front. Just waiting for some information on the brake lines as I'm fairly certain it's not going to be straight forward...
