Roight here goes as I'm terribly bored

I bought my little 182 back in november, second one I've had and this one isn't a dog.

Unfortunately I can't take credit for the creation, that'd be Mullybaby.

Bits before I got it

  • Trimmed s/wheel
  • brembo discs and rc5+ fronts
  • balance motorsport rear arb
  • ultralites atec
  • 98ron map
  • k-tec style induction
  • ttv flywheel
  • pms a/c delete
  • vibratecs all round
  • janspeed/ktec cat back with no meow
  • the standard poly bushed bits
  • eibachs
other lovely bits it had were new belts, dephaser, bushes, shocks, fluids, clutch and all the other jazz

Since I've had it I've done a little bit as it's good enough as it is. Tried to put my own stamp on though.

  • rs200 badge
  • rear arb refurb
  • fog ducts
  • apexi filter (get one or you're missing out)
  • p-zeros (too soft)
  • tow strap (going back to omp eye)
  • skoda splitter
  • 15mm hub spacers rear and hubbuddies front
  • brembo discs all round, new rear pads
  • 10 row oil cooler with thermostatic plate
  • pas delete (epas currently going in)
  • climair deflectors
Here she is as she stands then! Lemme know what y'all think yeh!

I'm also working on a friends 172 ph1 to get them ready for the ring in August so please say what things you think would be good.

On his I've done
  • balance rear arb
  • 98ron map
  • 15mm spacers
  • poly bushed dog bone
  • ttv flywheel and new clutch
  • engine damper
  • ph2 lights
  • 182 manifold and 172 decat link pipe

Both have been built to a nice spec. Only thing I would recommend for your ring trip is a smaller steering wheel. Makes such a difference.

Oh and some decent rubber, your left hand rear looks like a ditch finder?

On the ph1 I forgot to put down we've got a slightly smaller sparco wheel :) I say slightly smaller it's still 350mm!

I'd love to have a sabelt wheel but I think the cruise control is going to be a life saver on the 2000 miles we'll be doing.

n/s/r tyre is my old goodrich, now changed for the p-zero :) I have a leaning tower of tyres in the garage at the moment easily 12 high

Got my work cut out tomorrow.

Remove charcoal filter
Finish fitting the brake ducts
Replace rear brakes
New front discs
New exhaust mounts
Finish oil cooler hoses
Remount horn
Fit steering rack, epas 75% done now.

Wish me luck!

Finally I get her back on the road next week.

There are a few sticking points left before it's a go go go. I'm looking for a way to attach the ducting to the hole in the arch liner....but...without using tape. If the ducting comes through at all I get rub on the tyre due to the spacers.

She also seems to have developed a ticking from somewhere on the front o/s, it's not the carbon canister as she's gone.

All the other work is now done though, just need to string her up. If anyone can recommend a set up which doesn't eat tyres but is good for the occasional spirited drive I'd be indebted.

All done and complete bar attaching the ducting; pound land tape didn't stick. I put the steering splines on 180 degrees out (been in the garage too long) which was throwing up lights all over the shop. Sorted that, taking a whole day. All work carried out over the last 2 months is now complete and it's ready to hit the ring in august.

The ticking resolved it's self so I'm not tempting fate by looking for it anymore :)

I've had my cat sleeved to fit the cat back for MOT on Friday so hopefully we should face no problems or advisories.

Still after recommendations for a tracking set up. I strung the car at the weekend and have gone dead ahead at the moment to be sure.

Also need recommendations for what to do with my tyres. I have p-zeros at the moment. Want to spend a max of £200 on all 4 in either 205/45/16 or 195/45/16. Another bit of advise I'm after is how to clean the alcantara, it's turned brown where my horrible dusty boiler suit has been on it. This will not pose well with a suit.

Couple of piccies from the weekend after a clean.

Crumbs I haven't updated this for ages. EPAS is now in and working perfectly. Passengers seat has been lowered, sunstrip, crash cam in.

I'm going on a road trip to the ring, down the romantic road and into Austria in just over a week. Got a few things to sort before I go. I took her for a shake down around brands recently so I've got some photos :) Yay photos!!

2 problems, the richbrook knob is rattling like a female dog when I get to about 60 so I'm after a suggestion of how to shut it up and I need a new radio stalk.

Before we go away I've bought us some rally name stickers for the 1/4 windows which I can't wait to put on. Each car has them as part of our road trip. 'ilarious yes? thought so.

Looks like its coming along nicely, reminds me of my old arctic.

Your RARB looks to be fitted wrong. It looks to be sitting too low, probably have the mounts that bolt to the shock absorber round the wrong way.
