Just bought a 172 cup.

  Ph1 172

Ive just made the best decission of my life.:D

I have bought a 172 cup, I managed to strike a deal with the salesman at my local dealer and hes taking my one as p/x minus the wheels springs and viper kit.

Hes told me that it is one of the last cups left in the country, and its only got delivery miles on it (register in december 2003).

I pick it up on monday the 26th of april.

Im still gonna have my 17 dare v2 wheels, do you think I should put them on the cup, and will it look to high on standard suspension?

depends what you want it for,if you want it for looks then put them on, but if you want it to handle properly and to perform better leave the standard ones on, it might look a bit high also as the standard cup sits a little high especially at the front

Leave it as standard it already looks the part and all you will do is upset the handling or make it look like a 4wd car sitting high off the ground....

What are the worst things that go wrong with them, I have heard that boxes blow up if they get abused and the interior is renown for rattles.

nothing more will go wrong with it than any other clio, just little nigly bits, nothng major,it is just the same as a 172 after all

mines now got 7k on it and im only half way down the original tyres, so no real worries there, you will love it, take it steady and get used to it, try and get it on a track(where its a bit safer) so you can learn its limits , then you will know what you can do and what you cant, it goes round corners like you wont believe and is quick enough to worry alot of other cars, dont listen to the negative comments on here (i cant really understand why people do that, especially as you havnt even got the car yet), i can honestly say i never regret buying the cup, and i did try a brand new 172 and a brand new 182, but i much prefered the cup, for looks and for go, and the fact that i couldnt justify spending nearly £4000 more on the 172/182 and all i would of got for this is toys that i never use.

enjoy and dont listen to the negatives, and if you do have a minor problem, take it back and get it sorted under warranty.
