Just bought a Clio 1.4 Dynamique..

Just got it and very happy with it . Just got a few questions and thought this would be the best place to ask..

There is a rattle coming from the sunroof..its still under warranty so is going to Renault on Tue. I asked on the phone and the woman said it will be covered. Not sure if this is true though, what do you think? Or is this a problem anyone has come accross before and knows how to fix it?

Also the gear knob is warn (which seems to be a common problem). Again I am guessing this will not be under the warranty. Does the top just easily pop off? Or should I just replace the whole gear knob?

There is a small stone chip on the bonnet, how much is a good price to pay for the removal of this?

Sunroof should be covered under warrenty, mine was although don't expect it to be a permanent fix as most peoples seem to be ok for about 6 months then they start rattling again. Had a new surround fitted on mine about 2 months ago and so far its been rattle free although i'm using it as little as possible now to try and minimise the chances of it starting again.

Gearstick is a bit of a pain to do, i'd try to push to get it replaced under warrenty as both my 51 1.2 and 03 1.6 have been fine.

My sunroof rattled all the time when I first got the car, stopped doing it after a couple o weeks. The stone chip part all depends on the size of the chip an how far down into the paint it goes, least thats what I was told up here.

Cheers for your input guys..I'll really push for the gear stick to get done under the warranty..at the end of the day its not a big deal to them.

If they don't though can I just pop the top off and fit a new one rather than replacing the whole knob?

Its sounds like the sunroof is a fault is the Clio then? I will push to get a new surround and see what they say..

Cheers for the info about the stone chip, I have never had one repaired before so didn't know where to start or what to expect to pay.

My sunroof rattles all the time had someone look at it and theres nothing wrong with it it just rattles! just turn your music up and you dont even notice it! lol
