Just bought my first car. A 172 cup :)

Car  Stripped yozza'd cup
Evening guys and girls, just put a deposit down on a Clio 172 cup. Prepared for being raped by admiral for my insurance and looking forward to picking it up on Friday!
I'm sure I'll be spending many an hour trawling through the forums for info so looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hopefully going for a few track days in the early new year too so maybe meet a few there.

Lastly, I'm sorry to say I'm not a hot girl, I'm a 21 year old guy from sussex. (I thought I'd leave that bit til last as I assumed you'd lose interest after that was said)

Anyway. Hi.
Jack

I think the username gave it away that you are male and that pics wouldn't be asked for :p But welcome to the forum, and what a great first car!

It's actually ok. My girlfriend and I are sharing the car for now so she can be the main driver. Girly insurance means it's only £790 for the year fully comp with a £350 excess.

lol. I did actually buy one, ordered it from Renault, it got delivered to the garage, chose my plate etc.... then I moved in with the girlfriend, into our first house together, and I couldn't afford the finance and the house :( GUTTED. But the insurance was £1735 on my own.

so this was the 200 :(, i think it might be the most beautiful (within reason) car I've ever seen.

I'd also like to say a massive than you to Richard at CDG for being brilliant the whole way through, gutted I couldn't take it.

And this is the new one.....

Thats the one that needs the new cambelt doesn't it?
I thought that was a bargin at 2.6k, very nice car mate, and welcome

looks nice mate. Love cups.

Although if it hasn't had a cambelt change yet, it needs it doing NOW. Cambelt isn't just down to milage, it's also every 5 years.

in fact, on that note.... Isn't there a renault specialist in Portsmouth somewhere?? Rensport or something? I was going to go to k-tec, but Portsmouth is quite a lot closer.

Fook that right off. Your pockets would be drier than your arse in prison after a round with Bubba and his boys. The Cup will be much more fun to drive anyway bud :)

Im a fine one to talk but isnt a 172 Cup a little ambitious for your first car?

In short, yes. However, it's not technically my first car, I've been driving my girlfriends brabus roadster for two years. It's just the first car I've owned.
I'm a complete petrol head anyway, raced karts since I was 13 and will be buying a Porsche 944 to compete in the Porsche open championship as soon as I start my new job. I've also done a few track days in caterhams so I'm not completely new to the 'fast(ish) car' thing.

And I live in worth (Crawley) where abouts are you?

You would know how that feels LOL,

Nice Cup Jack, I've had 2 cup's, 2 Ph1 172's and a Ph2 172. Awesome little cars!

Very nice. Shame about the alloys though, i'll buy them off you though ;)

Fair play. Its just some of the stuff I read on here does make you think, with people going straight to, essentially, sports cars for their first or second car. My minion wrote off two 1ltr Polos before he was 19 and now he has just bought a MK V GT at 20 and he does not drive it well...

Im just outside oxford.

Very cheap insurance quote!

Who did you get the quote from?! (in your name)

Also.. welcome to the forum, and ... nice car :D

I dont get the insurance situation, the Cup's a group 16 yet the 200's a group 15...?

Welcome anyway

Because of teh' ABS..?

You turn me on with the durty talk WilDot, innit.
