just been to the dealer and they told me the key was fked.
They tried to charge me £35 for just testing it but didnt pay that. They then said it would cost £70 plus another £30 for coding it
I dont see why they cant fix it. It works the alarm and central locking fine, but just dont communicate with the immobiliser.

Man, Reno keys are f**king sh*t, my first set about a year ago both normal and spare keys went wrong and wouldn’t start my car, had the same problem as you Dazz, I had to get them both replaced and luckily it was under warranty.
Now a year on no more warranty and one of mine has f**ked up again, I was stuck in Bluewater car park for about 15 mins trying to start the car, every time I turned the key the immobilizer light just flashed like crazy. After the 100th attempt it started!!!
At the moment I’m using the spare which is working fine, buit for how long.........
what a bunch of theiving gits Renault are.
Took the key down to a local security and alarms specialist and they told me the key didnt even have a chip in it. 5 mins later they;d put in a new chip and programmed it and its works perfectly. £15, luvvly!!!
Surely Renault must of known this, cant believe they insisted it was irrepairable and i would need a new key.
