Knocking noise update! Compressor?

Just dropped off my dci at the garage for 4 new tyres and asked the mech to have a look at the intermitant knocking sound. he straight away said it was the top half of the engine, maybe the compressor? anyone know hoe much these problems cost to put right?

Is it engine knock bobby or when moving? Does it knock more when cold aswell?

What does he mean by compresser? Air con? If so its at the bottom. Might mean pump

What compressor is he on about? Need more information on his guess realy there an air con compressor on cars with air con/climate but that not at the top of the engine.

There the high pressure fuel pump but calling that a compressoer is daft its a fuel pump. Plus its on the side of the engine.

Yeah never heard it called that either edde, they don't tend to knock they tend to go BANG then die lol

right apperently the noise is bein caused by the absense of a washer on my fourth injector. a few quid to get hold of, a couple of hours labour .
