That's a pattern part, they are loud too (Steve from birch down bought a cup with one fitted)! Fitted w**k too!

has it had its baffles removed? With centre section, they are pretty quiet tbh.
You guys sound like girls! I wore earplugs with my ktec, f**k that, loud cars are loud! A ktec with a centre silencer is barely 90db, not loud.
I can see why its annoying when they drone, but they arent that bad.

No mate, it's more the fact you look like a total bellend driving a clio that sounds like a btcc car on the road to everyone but a few 16yr olds.

When the baffles were old and getting noisey in our stealth it certainly wasnt "neighbour friendly" anymore in the early hours of the morning etc, no point falling out with the people you live around just so you car sounds "well wikkid init blud" I reckon.

I'm BACK! and FLOL at this, why would a stealth be quiet? have you ever heard a stealth jet fly over? go the airshow next year, or run support on MW3 rack up 14 kills and off you go, LOL.

we have a Ktec quiet stealth , they do 2 sorts , its quiet (as quiet as the standard from what i have driven , been on the car 18 months and is still quiet .

i get more pissed off at the s**t renault exhaust hangers , so have just got a prima racing one to fit .

Just go to Longlife / Powerflow tell them what you want and boom they make it for you with a guarantee.

And boom its just something a mechanic with no knowledge of fluid dynamics has thrown together and probably nowhere near optimum.

Not all of them dude, that's a bit unfair even if someone on here quoted them as Hill Billies lol

Some are quite skilled.......... some. as long as they aren't the ones using a regular pipe bender it should be good stuff. the ones in Carshalton are alright I used them for old motor.

How do you know if they are any good at fluid dynamics in the context of designing an exhaust?

Did they even discuss things like your cam profile or what rpm you rev to or what rpm you want it optimised for etc?

How many different designs did they dyno test with your spec engine before they decided on the design they made for you?

Sorry but I disagree totally and stand by my original comment, all they are doing (at best) is making something that fits well and looks nice and sounds roughly how you want, they arent doing any development in terms of performance at all, where as a decent aftermarket exhaust (like the pure motorsport ones) they have done.

Honestly, probably none of that but when I went it was £250 fully fitted for a cat back, the car was an MK3 Astra running a C20 let and getting original ones from the Cavaliers and Calibras wasn't an option so it was all I had really, nothing off the shelf fitted or simply couldn't afford it. I completely agree with what you're saying and they probably know nothing about other than how to bend, weld and fit, but it did the job quite well.

But given most exhausts for the clio are not cheap they are a good option, if you can afford top end then go for it, but given he's bought a 2nd hand one it seems he isn't willing to splash out on top end stuff.

is it louder than my clio was ad? that thing was stupid...

I think turbo cars tend to be way quieter than N/A's with a full system.

Yeah turbos are definitely quieter.
Id honestly say its near as loud as your clio was.
I wouldn't mind if it was a V8/V10 but with a 4cyl it's not the nicest noise lol

it's one thing having a purposeful looking sporty car that can get away with being loud. But a little hatchback? no.

101db at 5.5revs. Because, race car lol.

Ive got the supersports system and it is god damn loud and now becoming a pain in the ass. Thankfully I'm not going to be using it every day soon. I think my ears would die.

If I had to use the clio everyday then I would have a standard exhaust on it already! Luckily I have a diesel megane too.

The RS192 on our 182 is mega quiet, almost indistinguishable from standard.
Is that a scorpion?
just got quoted £355 from AMD in essex for a scorpion cat back fitted.
Scared it will be loud though and I would have wasted that money!
Also got a quote from longlife in carshalton for £389 and he reckons they can do it quiet like standard.

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
Yeah its a scorpion but the RS192 version only fits the 182 as its got two huge boxes under the rear floor like the original 182 ones.

Yeah looked on eBay and seen they have different ones for different models.
May have to hunt down some more 172s and listen to theirs.

I have the Sn019 on mine, just one back box but it's not loud at all except for when on idle it starts to drone away, regular cruising it's fine, apparently the rs192 doesn't fit too well either but my one went on perfectly fine ( get new hangers too )
check sale section though, every few weeks the Ktec silenced one pops up for around £100 or so, worth a punt.

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
Our RS192 took me around 20 mins to fit, and does so perfectly, it really was a breeze, I cant understand why anyone moans about them, if you cant fit one of those you probably cant fit anything, lol.

Even on idle the RS192 is almost the same as standard. Shame its 182 fit only though :(

The K-tec mild steel is quiet and I would imagine gives a little extra performance over a standard system, not the best made thing in the world but fairly cheap. My BTB is loud when the cars cold on idle, however its fine at higher revs but abit to loud pottering around for me tbh. However I have no idea what I would swap to as this thing is so well made its untrue, fairly heavy though plus nearly all other systems that offer a 'slight' added performance gain are alot louder.

maybe first thing to check would be if it does have a decat? because you could try a silenced one?
