After deciding im having one of these next, probably early next year when the Freelander 2 is 3 years old and out of warranty, i started browsing youtube and looking at them offroad as i actually use mine offroad.

Found this video. 1.52 onwards in pretty impressive.

Amazing what they can do, it's like they defy physics some times! To be fair, you also have to have some off roading skills too.

Old Series 1 would nail it offroad! :) I've seen it many a time up the hills!!!

That is some pretty impressive stuff.. I'm wanting to do an offroad course in mine to see what it can do!

You WILL damage it in some way.

£400 worth of paint later and the parents never knew.

Ha! Talking from experience ;)

I'd like to do one in someone elses RRS and keep mine nice and shiny

Maybe ;)

When the instructor tell's you to keep the wheel straight, you do it. Or you will tip forwards and take most of the paint off the front bumper....

Justin, if you want something to play with, buy a Suzuki Sj413. Amazing pieces of kit. We climbed some serious mountains in ours while en route to Mongolia.

Mates fell in love with them and 3 out of 5 bought one when we got back!

Problem with the RRS is the more road biased tyres... will still be impressive though. And yup, as a Disco chassis which is different to the Range Rovers (which is why the Range Rover is lighter).

An X5 would still be pretty good off road, considering BMW has had access to Land Rover's technology before selling to Ford.

I basically did what happens in the RRS vid. Except i turned a little and it tipped forward onto 3 wheels taking a lot of paint off the front bumper.

I assume you mean the brand new X5?. Lad at work has a 56 plate X5 and its gets stuck in light rain, its absolutely pants.

LOL, that is insane! I remember being knee deep in water my old man's Range Rover, a tad worrying!

I suppose it would be the first X5, i don't know much about the new one. I imagine a lot of it's down to tyres though.

Went on one of those Land Rover Experience days when the Disco3 first came out. They do the lot on the road tyres... Incredible.

disco 3 is a proper good piece of kit.
that first vid hasnt got standard tyres and its only sandy rocks, doubt you could do that in mud, but still v impressive.
