Lightest 182

As part of my winter strip down and rebuild i'm also aiming to remove as much weight as possible, without extreme cost's though ;)

So far i've stripped the entire interior inc dash, and all the tar (9kg's worth )
The aircons gone (although i've still got the pump to remove)

Now i'm looking at Composite doors, tailgate and bonnet plus poly windows.

How far have others gone and what weight did you acheive, iirc the cup racers were around 900kg's, so that should be acheivable :)

Anyone taken a 182 under 900kg's?

Christ if it weighed say 900kg's and was making 182 at the fly it would be around 205bhp/ton (slightly more than a Mini Cooper GP and there packing 218bhp)

Bear in mind with composite doors/ tailgate that you'll remove structural rigidity from the car if you dont plan on fitting a cage.

Good luck with the build though :)

Due to the way the doors and tailgate lock, i'm sure the structural integrity wouldn't be affected too much, but i've got a cup racer cage fitted anyway :rasp:

As you say though Burp's cars a 172 though, and they're lighter too start with, i'd be interested to know where the weight difference between the 172/182 is, the shells look pretty similar with the exception of the tyre well.
