Lining up stepper motor

I've been upside down with my head in my footwell today trying to sort my hot only climate control.
I've discovered to classic split stepper motor cog which I've now cable tied together but can't get the cog and it's other half in the heater matrix to line up, the are at about 180 degrees out of line. Has anybody got any words of advice, I'm so close to sorting the issue
