Here we go again......lol

A mate of my wife (another women) has just paid £32k for a Scoobie sti WR1 pro Drive...awesome car, 0-60 in 4.25 and 0-100 in 10.5, 320bhp, looks awesome in its Ice Blue metalic too......and guess what, I would still rather have my V6 255.:D(but would like 320bhp)

Her car (and EVOs) are bloody fast, but still rather have the V6 255....but then I bought one so I guess I am going to say that anyway.....

btw, I am not a poser but, she gets pissed off (my wifes mate) when people come over to look at my car and totally ignore hers.....lol, its very funny.

Yup here we go again. I am with the Evo of course. V6 isnt in the same league and was never designed to be but unfortunately gets compared with these superior cars due to some crazy pricing from Renault...

Someone in that thread said the V6 looked better but for gods sake when you look inside a V6 half the interior parts are from a 1.2 and at £26k thats taking the mick.

My brothers Yaris blows the V6s interior out of the water and thats a £7k car!

Ok I will say it again! I dont care what my car looks like cos I dont use it to pull birds and I definitely dont use it to impress/pull blokes so all I care about is how it looks from the drivers seat! I just dont see how exterior styling is relevant. Last thing I want is for a group of blokes to gather round my car everytime I park somewhere! If you guys like that sort of thing then fair enough I guess!

Have to admit that its not just the V6 that has an interior problem. The Clio in general is now waaaaaaay behind the times. I sat in my brothers Yaris yesterday and couldnt help but think that I would be taking a massive step backwards from that when the 182 turns up.

toypop u really dont like the V6 do you?? lol

got to say though id would pick a v6 over an evo because of all the running costs and parts if something goes wrong.

and u could always put a new interior in for say one and half grand prob solved.

Grrr no people keep saying that but I actually love the V6.

I think a two seater hot hatch is a great concept. I dont carry passengers in the back anymore cos its too cramped and because my mates (BMW/MR2 owners) took for granted the lifts I always gave them to the pub and just sl*gged off my Clio all the time.

Might as well have two seats then to either save weight or allow an engine to be stuck in the back. That way you get the mid engine rear wheel drive configuration of say an MR2 but without the hairdresser looks and lacklustre performance. Id love to strip the rear seats out of the 182 when it turns up to save weight but it would look a mess.

The problem is that I just think the V6 has been cynically over priced. For the price it is way too slow and has the same dated interior as the rest of the Clio range. I dont think it looks any better on the outside than many other cars you can get for that money either. It wouldnt be on my top ten list of cars Id buy if I had 25k in my pocket and should really be selling at say £19k.

well I hate the looks of the EVO, (just personal opinion) but my wifes mates STI WR1 was £32000, my Clio was £24500 so I have an extra £7500 to spend on engine upgrades, and a cars that looks awesome to boot....I dont give a sh*t about inside as long as its ok and it is OK...no worries about inside here....ok

I hope to get my engine upto 350bhp with the £7500 and then we will have more power than an EVO and WR1 for the same weight.....ok lol

But if Price/performance is all you are after then buy a 20 year old sports car and stick a Super/turbo charger on it with NOS and blow away ferraris for very little money.....

It aint about MONEY for me....or I would have done the same...ok

for visual impact the V6 takes some beating id say.

it is quick and handles mint.

but.

i totally agree with what this guy is saying re the interior. i mean the seats ARE the same as the 1.2 jobs with just a different cover. same for the dash etc.

when u consider how the Reno dealers treat their customers as well, i just couldnt bring my self to give them £26k.

Well I buy a car because I want it. not because the Reno dealers are crap.....although I have never come across this myself, they were very good to me when I had my old 5GTT and are even better now that I have bought a V6 255....

No complaints here re RENO dealers.

No Complaints here re interior either, but that maybe due to the fact that its a damn site better than my old 5GTT and my other car is a Fiesta 1.6 16v (new shape) and thats crap inside to compared to the Reno too....
