Looking at a 172 today :D

Just a quick question regarding what I should be looking for, its done 73k miles, 51 plate.

MOT is next july. I take it the service should have been done? at 72k? And included the cambelt?

Edit - Do 172's come with cup packs? Spoilers etc?

172's come as either a cup or a 172... Cup will have cloth seats, Cup spoiler and splitter and suspention. 172 will have leather, normal spoiler and no splitter.

Cam belt due at 72k or 5 years and will cost around £600 to get done so factor that into the price if its not been done.

No Cup Pack on a Normal 172

As its a 51 Plate the Cambelt should have been done a while ago now as its 72k or 5 Years, Check for General wear and tear and Knocking in Suspension and Engine Mounts

72k or 5 yrs...so belts should have been done...if not..£500 job..immediately!

roll off the throtle in 3 gear then floor it, if the engine bangs it needs the mounts doing

Thanks guys, its a FF one, so non cup. Just wondered why the spoiler looked quite small.

I'll make sure the cambelt was done, if it hasnt i'll walk away tbh

Cambelt should've been done 2 years ago with a 51 plate, other than that just make sures its had its services every 12k/2years.
