Looking for a test pilot for rear removable strut brace.

Placebo effect....

If a blind test was done most would not be able to tell, for a start the suspension is full of rubber bushings.

Once again for the dumb people these offer no advantage other than emptying your wallet.

cup racers run slicks which generate incredible amounts of lateral G's, a road cars high nylon content tyres will slide into a bush before then even get close.

if you had a strut brace on the front, and you had a side ding..

would the strut brace bend or would it transfer some of the force to the other side of the car? like twisting the whole front end?

On the cup racer the front strut it looks as if its not bolted through the strut mount, more of secured by the strut tops.

If this is the case why does all the struts (that ive seen) require you to drill the strut mounts?

That comment was aimed at a rear brace, but i stand by the fact that very few (if any) would notice a front one on a std road car.

As std the clio has a very good stiff shell and being so new its doubtful its gone weak.
In the past ive had cars that once jacked up the doors wouldnt close, now they are a benefit on such vehicles.

The cup cars no doubt run suspension rates twice what a roadcar has and fat slicks. Even the design that you picture could be improved by triangulation and fixing onto the bulkhead.

bingo, hence i was saying a tri point front brace for the chap to make.

Clios are stiff, my mk1 xr2 will twist so much that the parcel shelf falls off under heavy cornering.

Err, my 182 does that, and so do others I've seen! (well, they do close, but only just)

Ok, If no one wants to try it to see that's fine, but if there is somebody who is open minded and has a fast Clio, please let me know.
Cheers
Mike

i've said i'll try it. I can guarantee i drive my car hard enough to know if it makes a difference, just becuase i dont drive a 182 doesnt mean i wont know if it has made any difference. I drive a 1.6, so its not exactly slow. If you want help designing your product I'm here and if it makes a worth while difference I will recommend it highly on here and other forums. Let me know if your interested.

PMSL

^^ I'm not saying its a fast car, i was just trying to stress the point i dont drive a 1.2. I dont expect the guy to go for my offer, because its only a 1.6, but as i tried to point out above, it doesnt matter what engine is in the car, its how hard you drive it that matters when it comes to this kind of thing, ala freds 1.2 on coileys (think its freds...)
