Machine polishing plastic front wings

Tomorrow I’ll be machine polishing my Clio for the first time - and I’m a little concerned about the plastic front wings and any build up of heat. I’ve got a DA polisher and will be using a Hex-Logic orange pad with Meguiars Ultimate Compound.

Should I be concerned about this? Is there anything I should do especially to take care and avoid problems with heat?

Nah, I've done a few clio's and never encountered issues

Most DA's shouldn't build up enough heat to have any effect at all tbh mate

The only way you’ll damage paint with a DA is if you throw it at the car.

Theres a video even showing how long it takes with a rotary to burn paint. Longer than you think.

I tried meguiars ultimate compound with a das 6 pro on my Monaco, it took forever to get any form of correction the paint was that tough

I’ve managed sub 8 seconds and sub 11 to metal. Was a demonstration of what not to do 🤣👍

Makita rotary, Meguiars burgundy cutting pad and the heaviest cut compound I could find 🤣👍
