Machine polishing - question about working up through pads/polish

I've a machine polisher and a few other bits arriving next week for my first machine polish & second detail session.

I've done plenty of reading of several guides and am confident in the process however there is one thing I am unsure of.

Obviously you start with the less aggressive finishing pads and lighter compounds as overkill would be unnecessary.

I think I'm a bit confused, despite looking at the flow charts on the guides, as to the working order of pads & polish combo's. I will have:

Sonus SFX-1 Restore Pad
Sonus SFX-2 Enhance Pad
Sonus SFX-3 Final Polish Pad

Sonus SFX-4 Final Finish Pad

Menzerna Fast Gloss S 100
Menzerna Power Finish PO85RD3.02
Menzerna Super Finish PO106FA
Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD

Start light with a light finish pad and finishing compound, working up through the aggressiveness of compound, once all have been tried on the finishing pad to no avail then change to a harder pad and start again working through the softest compound to the hardest? Or is it pointless using a very aggressive compound on a finishing/soft pad?

If I've used a more aggressive compound and wish to use a lighter one on the same pad will it need cleaning? Or do I just need to make sure it's not still got lots on and can just go ahead and put the lighter finishing compound on? Eg. SFX 4 used with Super finish and I then want to use Final finish on the same pad.

This all made sense a few weeks ago but today for some reason my brains gone to ****!

Apologies if I'm over complicating things.

Edit: A template for me to use, would this be correct?

I don't think working all the way through products on one pad is the best approach, anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong as i'm new to machine polishing aswell. Best approach i think is PO85RD on finishing pad, then PO106FA on finishing pad, then back to PO85RD on polishing pad, then PO106FA on polishing pad, PO106FA on enhancing pad, PO85RD3.02 on enhancing pad, etc etc. Work from your least aggresive combo gradually up through to harsher ones.

Power Gloss is a very high cutting compound and I would be very surprised if you need that.

What Machine is it?

For polishing you'll need the hardest pad i beleive thats the yellow Sonus??! And not sure why you bought all those polishes, the 3.02 on its own would of sufficed! (Oh and Menz products work better when worked in a warm environment)

Turnini's... i'm going to have to disagree the turinis look small imo.... 2118's in 17" ahem! Wood!

But agreed i'd love it to be lower, never known a 4x4 to have zero body roll though so I shant complain too much.

More for asthetics than anything else.

I'm going to get banned for talking about it.
The zero (virtualy non-existent) body roll comment is not just from owners, also Journo's a like.

Hmm who is good with PS! 2218's on the FRP... would have to have lows to work.

Loller!

I read the V6 vs 250 on evo, was a great read and even they mentioned the rain being an issue... stating the obvious though... short wheelbase RWD pocket rocket bad in the wet... well played.

I think I could do their job.

I have the power gloss from a previous encounter after removing some stubborn bird poop, along with the other 3.

The rest of the stuff (compounds again!) is part of a DAS-6 PRO bundle from CYC.

I think I've cleared it up with myself for some reason last night I was rather confused.
