Main Dealers Forecourt Prices!

  BMW F21 125d
Are they dreaming or smoking dope when they put the signs up.

Just seen at my local Renault - 04 Black 172, Very Good Condition, unknown mileage as its still waiting prep etc..... £7,999!!!! As if they'll ever get anywhere near £8,000 for that. I paid £6,000 for mine on a 53 with 23k!

To be fair, nobody ever pays the sticker price, unless they're f**king stupid.

My car was up for about £800 more than I paid for it.

What most people dont see is the CS valuations. IMO some of the stuff I've seen on here is just a joke.

  Titanium 182 & 306 Diesel
I paid 9k for mine from a renault dealer in may last year 04 plater 182 with 17k on the clock :)

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
Dealers are a rip off imho. The sooner people realise this and start buying private the better this country will be for motorists.

Agreed!

Not just on here , but the trader/pistonheads people de-value there own car , some with good reason ( they need a very quick sale )

If everyone just under cut the dealer by a grand or so Cliosports would be holding there money much better!

Alas with the days of the tinternet broker slashing KKKKK's off new cars it's always gonna be a buyers market!

But, I bought my 182 from a dealer earlier this month. 3 days after having it, it needed some new leads due to water penetration. Dealer replaced free of charge and gave me a courtesy car. If I bought private, I'd have had to pay.

There is so much more peace of mind buying from a dealer, and to me, it's worth the extra!!

And cliosport de-value cars so bloody much!!

  Disco 5 ,Monaro VXR
cant agree more. I tried to sell my 182 last june on here with 46k miles and was spottless put it up @6k for a quick sale and even at that price people where telling me it was over priced i mean you would still be lucky to find one at that price

  2015 ST2(MO)/CorsaLE
182 prices did dip for a while and there on there way up as the 197 has been a flop

if you want a bit of inside info - Inerno is the colour to have so at 9995 its a bargain tbh

Wait for it, real them in ;)

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
i paid 6k for my 52 plate 172 with 39k on it 4 months ago from a dealer, i thought that was a very good price

I paid £7495 for my 182 with 25k at xmas from a main dealer, and from what people say on here it's now worth about £5800!!

Yet on pistonheads, it seems it's worth about £6800 - £7200 ?!?!?

So, the enthusiasts are hurting themselves lol. By the same token, all the people ordering 197 cups for £12.5k etc, your cars are now only worth £9.5k tops by CS standards, so how gutting is that?!?!

  LY V6 with Recaros
We've had 182s up at our dealer for nearly 9k on 54 reg's, people pay it though. I think we had a 172 cup up for nearly 8 grand!

Thats what i'm saying , if people under cut the dealer ( stealer ) price . and hold out for there buyer without dropping the price then dropping it again, RS Clios will be worth more!

It's CS members comments when people advertise their car for sale that are causing the trouble lol.

Hopefully, locking the for sale threads will stop that.

Yet if you came in wanting to part exchange that car they would probably only offer you 5-6k for it and say it isn't worth any more than that and then hike the price up as soon as it goes on the forecourt. I got offered 5k for a part exchange for my 53 plate cup well over a year ago and they would have put it up for loads more than that - needless to say I didn't accept!

Each to there own views buy when you include for sales persons wages/ cleaning/servicing/paperwork/warently costs/garage running costs and then there the garage profit from having a car sat for a month on the sales desk not earning a few % interest in the bank then theyre a business so profile and the asking price not being the selling price etc there not exactly making a fortune.

  ST
My R27 was sat in the showroom with £17,250 on it...i paid £14,300 for it..

If you pay the price on the window you're a mug!!

The dealers are good for convenience, P/X , finance , ect!

Good deals can be had from dealers if you do the leg work and don't take there sales bullsh*t

So you dont mind paying 1500 quid over the odds for a set of leads,

Thats some piece of mind

I think its fair to say each 2nd hand car on a fourcourt is making them £3,000

They give sod all when its traded in and bump the price up to top book to sell. They are sharks, all of them

  H&R + Pole Position'd Cup
My 53 plate 172cup, just turned 40k was on the forecourt at £7,999 - luckily I got it at trade price (£6200).

id rather have a grand in my back pocket, can rent a car and pay for the repairs yourself. no point in buying a relatively cheap to repair from a dealer. If it was an m5 i might see the sense.

What if it needed a new engine? Anyway, I'm happy to pay extra. Worth every penny for my peace of mind like I say.

I'd like some of what you're smoking please.....

When i worked at renault, after the VAT, recon costs, over allowance on the part ex, you were lucky to clear £800 profit.

If you've never worked in a dealership or for that matter any used car sales garage, then you are just making up stories.

I think you've cracked it there.

Cliosport members are in the whole anti Renault dealers for anything. they cannot do right.
