Manifold to cat fitting kit

  Williams 2
I've picked up a manifold to cat fitting kit from my local motor factors.

Can anyone confirm the measure of the bits that fit into the manifold bracket?

The things that look like mini buckets that fit into the mount at the end of the manifold.

The ones I have are about 12mm across and I have a feeling they are going to be too big to fit into the holes.

Anyone know roughly the dimensions?

I just used two m6 shanked bolts ( I think ) kept the springs and binned the rest of the junk. So easy and so effective.

That sounds too big from memory, I fitted a replacement on the weekend and I think it was probs about 8mm??

They were a tight fit through the holes, so I never had to use washers. I came to this system after I fiddled with the s**t ebay kit for an hour and a half whilst under the car, which is like 100mm to short WTF lol. Used the mesh gasket and springs. Had the job done in 10 minutes using my big bolts. Could have done that in the first place.

Right I'm probably going to sound like a bit of a prick here but I really want to make sure I have everything I need when my new exhaust is fitted soon.

Do I need a manifold to cat fitting kit if I'm not removing the cat and just fitting a cat back system?

Is there anything else I need to get?

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
you don't need one, but it'll more than likely be worn so no sense not changing it. I keep them on the shelf, fit at least 2 a week

I've got a cat fitting kit showing up at Renault tomorrow, £27.

I've got the dreaded exhaust rattle and i'm down on power, so I think the springs have come lose and the gasket's rattling about,
although I can't get to one of the nuts as it's almost inaccessible, so it's going on a lift on Friday.

When i've got a bit more money i'm giving serious consideration to a 182 manifold for easier access to a smaller cat.
