mark fish motorsport.

  Ph1 172

After lots of bad experiances with my local dealers, I decided to pop up to mark fish motorsport today.

After bein fobbed off with complete crap from local dealers it was nice to meet a genuine guy who was willing to take time to quickly look over my car and give me an honest opinion of what he thought was wrong, so much so he has booked the car in for this sat, a lot sooner than the local dealers 18th oct:eek: He also showed me around the workshop and one of the his customers cups which he has jus done the works on.

If any body is looking to do serious mods to there car in the essex area, I would seriously consider MF motorsport.

I just got my car bac from him, after he fitted new engine/gearbox mounts and sorted my decat out for me.

Car now feels like a new car again (a lot tighter than before) and theres know knocking or banging like before.

Once again I recommend mark fish motorsport to any body that needs work doin on there car, as the service I received was fisrt class and second to none, and to answer a few of the above questions he is in the process of building a website now and it should be up and running in the near future.

yes, he ran a trophy V6 team.

But interms of modification i dont know, the engines are sealed units and they cant touch them.

still hasnt finished the work on the itg maxogen for the clio 16v/williams though

cant fault their workmanship though when my mate had a few things sorted on his car

  Weeman sucks ****

Doesnt GB LEO work for them, thats what he told me when I saw him in Bedford last? Theres also a chav that drives a heavily decaled mk1 172 round Ware with the MF logo on.

Im near Harlow, might have to pop down there. Anyone know where exactly?

I met Mark Fish on the Track six months ago and he has taken care of my Clio Cup (which I race weekly) ever since. He has done all the modification work for it from Engine to gear box and he has always done the work to perfection. The guy is very nice and dedicated to his work.

Not only is he a good mechanic but he was an ex race driver. So will know how to setup the cars very well. I Highly recommend him.

Racing suspension system (LEDA), toe in, camber the lot,

Head work, Cams, supership

182 Exhaust mainfold + sport cat and back box

All that gave 194 top BHP

On the gear work

Lighten the flywheel, racing clutch, change main drive to 4.9 changed the fifth gear to overdrive, added limited slip differential

All done by MARK by the way with the exception of the ship, and I am going to install the SMT6 soon

Result = Rocket

I love it :D

It is awesome for the track a bit harsh and difficult to drive on the normal roads though but I love it. Getting it off the line is tricky but if done properly it feels like a rocket and acceleration between speeds is unelievable (50-80) and (80- 100)....

well well, this afternoon i did pay mark fish a visit in my V6, and overall i think id be more than happy for him to work on my car.

he took time to dicsuss the mods he had developed for the V6, explained a few queries i had with the car, and generally seemed to know his stuff about them, which is a change from renault dealers.

he also said to me that he should specialise more, and i think im convinced him to become a V6 specialist and he asked me to mention on here that any V6 owners around, he would like to take on the work.

he seems a very keen and genuine guy to me, and loved talking. he has made for the V6 a sports exhaust, a ITG induction kit, a full LEDA suspension package supposedly maknig the car incredible, and a short shift gearstick.

he had a V6 there too that had been in an accident, anyone on here?

:)

that mk1 v6 belongs to mark he bought after the previous owner had a crash in it and is in the process of rebuilding it to sell.

...almaghrbi...roughly how much was ur (leda) racing suspension setup m8? (whats it lowered by etc?) mines in for head cams smt7 now and the suspension is my next task, ta

..also could you explain what the main drive to 4.9 etc means? and what the slip dif does for the car? lots of questions eh

Well the suspension cost around 1200 I think, I cannot remember but that is for everything, LEDA suspension, setup Corner weighting, Camber, Toe In, Toe out, the car was lowered, I do not by how much but it is the lowest possible without causing problems (like the clio cup racers) This made a big difference and gave two seconds in laptimes in Lydden Hill.

The 4.9 main drive is basically replacing the original 4.061 from Renault. What this means is that each gear will be shorter by (1-4.061/4.9) 17% from original specs. Hence much better acceleration throughout all gears. To offset the drop in top speed on 5th gear we put 5th gear overdrive.

The LSD gives better grip and reduces understeer. You can put the power down with no fear through the corners;)

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo

Sounds like a beast almaghrbi, should gain a bit of torque and a few bhp, with the smt6...Ill check my bank on Monday and post if alls present and correct.

..thanks alma, so is it the combination of the gearbox changes and the slip dif that makes it more "challenging" to drive on the road?

Not really I think it is all of the factors. Toe and Camber setup with very hard suspension will make the car follow the lines on the road. So you have to be aware all the time and the fact that you are driving a very fast car vs 30 mph roads is the bigest challenge that I find. i.e. it is a car setup for the track and driving it on the road is fun but un-comfortable. However, I dont mind that at all.
