MediaNav Unit

  Renault Clio 2015
So I recently purchased a 2015 Clio Dynamique MediaNav S/S and the OEM unit is atrocious! The Bluetooth skips constantly and the thing is laggy. I tried living with it but couldn’t deal as I have a 2 hour a day commute to work, and I rely on the Bluetooth.

I read on another forum that there is an in-place upgrade option to the MediaNav Evolution, and I’ve gotten the unit and fitted it but the volume level is a lot lower (have to set it at like 23/24 when the old unit would be the same level at 10/11) and the temperature function doesn’t work on it (guessed this was down to the model difference of the car spec).

Is this unit my only option or is there a third party unit available to fit that will fit into the existing slot (single din fitment with double din appearance)?

How have others got around this?

So I updated the software to version 9 and this has improved the audio levelling so happy with that. Any idea why the temperature isn’t showing on the unit when I can see it in the onboard menus?

Did the original unit display the temp? I know temp is on the dash display so maybe the car doesn't send the info to the media unit?

Nah it wasn’t, but I wasn’t sure if that was just the limitation of the unit? It’s all the same connections but perhaps there is an additional wire on the loom needed?

I can live with it as my main issue was the Bluetooth. Next task... Cambelt change :(

Really interested in this as I have the MediaNav too. Mine occasionally skips and also takes ages connecting to my phone. Have you got a link to the MediaNav Evolution unit ?

I went on eBay and got the LAN5210WR4 (example link below);

It’s a straight swap out but you won’t have DAB or the temperature. It’s worse updating it to 9.1.3, but it’s miles quicker and Bluetooth is much better.

I paid £130 for my unit. I wasn’t pleased I had to replace it myself and there doesn’t appear to be any options other than a 300-400 Android unit that comes as one piece. Would’ve liked CarPlay but this is what I get for buying french I guess lol!
