Megane 225 better than mk2 V6

More than happy with my Mk1 V6.

I am sure some of you are post chasing.

I spend my money how I like and enjoy my cars.

Have thought about the Megane but cannot make my mind up, think I will keep the V6.

Given the choice of having either being given to me free id take the Megane.

you must get to spec-savers real soon, your eye sight is going....lol ;)

also if you do prefer the Megane then how stupid to get one free if you could get a V6 255 free too, because you could the sell the V6 255 and make more money...DOH :p

Simon.
Simon,

I know how much you love your car and respect that. Try returning some respect by accepting that not everybody will choose the car you own.

Out of the 2 i would prefer to own a Megane....end of.

To lay to rest what you posted here goes....

If i was given one free and had to keep it.....i would choose a Megane. It being cheaper means nothing,i prefer it to the V6.

If i were given one free to do as i like id take the V6 and sell it straight away.As before if i were buying and in this situation after selling the free V6 id buy neither.

Opinions are like arses Simon,we all have one so specsavers is not needed thank you.

Ease up on the king stromba syndrome please :D

Dont take it so f*cking serios mate please, if you notice I end most of my posts here with a Wink;) meaning I ma just taking the p*ss, if you prefer the ugle Megane, then so be it....lol;)

My V6 255 is just my weekend fun car anyway, but If I needed a second car with 5 seats I would go for a scoobie or Evo, never a Megane.....

Simon

Dont assume im taking it so seriously, you are wrong to think that :D

I have better things to do than get upset over a few words from strangers in internet forums who refuse to accept other people have differing opinions. ;) It does appear that way looking back over this thread.

If i were spending V6 money i would never go for one,be it as a car for everyday use or a once a year on sunny days only car.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and in my eyes the V6 doesnt cut it.Like yourself i would not go for a Megane if i had a choice of everything either so at least we have something in common, but back on topic....V6 or Megane 225...Megane 225 every time ( That includes as a weekend for me only car and every day) ;)

I put some extra ;)s in so you know im not upset ;)

Its a forum FFS !!!

Fair enough, just to have the last word (like I always like to do), V6 255 verses Megane 225, V6 255 wins everytime (unless you need 4 seats), you know it makes sense....lol;)

If the thread was "Which 2 seater" which its not.....it still wouldnt be a V6 :p

No this thread is V6 255 verses Megane 225 and I can not see any area that the Megane wins except having more seats....:p

now your starting it up again haha ! LOL.

the V6 is a two seater sure it has a few gizmos but wouldnt the spare cash be bettered o an elise ? i.e day to day car then track car. the V6 is a renault show car, it should have never left the concept show

IMO

bigger power but bizzarley ? big weight ? if it had tipped the scales @ 1200kgs instead of 1400kgs then it would be rapid to justify 20k even then not 27000 Of englands finest pounds.

How I spend my cash is totally up to me mate....I fell in love with the V6 the first day I saw one, and still think they look awesome, and by the attention you get in one, so does most of the UK.....lol ;)

You all seem to be worried about money? better spent on this, better spent on that, and so on.... are you a bunch of old men because you sound like my Grandad...ROFLOL...;)

The V6 only weighs 25kgs more than a 225 and 75kg lighter than a scoobie sti? plus it looks like a piece of artwork.... :)

Megane is a practical family car with a turbo, period.

I only keep this thread going because I pop on now and again between other thing only to find someone else puliing the V6 down, so I have just to answer, I am compelled to do it.;) 36 post now.....lol

If the Megane was only a 2 seater it would still get my vote :p

engine is basically lifted from the v6 laguna and as far as i can tell isnt the most advanced piece of kit in the world, correct me (and you will) if im wrong but doesnt the noblem12 with the mondeo 3.0 + twin turbo weigh less ? and also big 3.0 24v audi engines weigh less because they are all alloy ?...

any v6 2.5 or 3.0 ive heard weather it is a old vectra gsi or alfa 156 2.5 v6 sound mint due to thier larger capacity.. but take the americans the v6 is much like that but with a euro influence.. loud too much capacity i.e 7.0ltr engine with so much weight that 1.8T run rings around them all day and have much better fuel econ and durability.

isnt the V6 clio getting just a little bit old hat now ! revamping a flawed car MKI v6 didnt really boost sales or really sort out the problem, small but heavy doesnt go well.

pile of poo ? well i look at it like this, the megane is a wide arse the V6 is a lard arse.

(hehe dont take big offence its all in jest of course ! each to their own but on average more people will mod a megane rs and even with zorst+induction they push 240+bhp easily a match for the v6)

Ahem....My friend of all friends, could i interest you in 290bhp whilst retaining your engine cover?

you could interest me all you like but im guessing that 40 bhp is comin in at about £200/BHP..

i could offer my car free for you to work on so it would be a kinda demo car for your capabilities as a tuning company !! and ill give YOU the free box of choccies !!
Little bit less than that.

Any why is it that everybody asks me to take their car and do it for free? lol.

Still checking out a Swiss company that does a Supercharger (360PS) WITH engine cover ON and also talking to your mate AndyGDI re what he can do (TBs with Engine cover on, over 300bhp))....I will spend money on my car to get well over 300bhp, just not sure with who yet....lol

Simon.

I supply GDI with their TB kits and for as much effort ive put into it, TBs with the engine cover on is looking ever so more impossible.

Yes but it has a been modded quite a bit because the V6 laguna doesnt put out 255bhp? but yes its a heavy engine, plus it has heavy sub-frames and all that fibre glass boykit to add on.

The noble is built from scratch for lightness, the V6 is based on the normal clio...doh

The V6 is still lighter than a Scoobie sti...so it aint quite as bad as you seem to think.

as for your last statment, you seem to have it the wrong way around, the CLIO has the Wide Arse, the Megane is just Lard all over....lol;)

Andy was talking about TBs with a 90 degree bend to keep under the engine cover, is this not possible then? if not I will have to wait for Novidem to sort out there (Under engine cover) Supercharger kit I guess?

Simon.

well I do agree that we disagree. but whether that will stop us....I dont think so...lol ;)

A lot of it comes down to this being a CLIO site, so I am far more into CLIOs than Meganes, I would expect a Megane site (if there is such a thing) to defend there Meganes with Gusto too...lol :D

Like i said, i supply GDI with TB kits.

And the use of 90 deg bends (not commercially available), wouldnt clear the cover issue unless they were flattened as they passed over the cam cover, of which leads you to the problem of placing airboxs over the exhaust manifolds, add to that a total lack of space on one side behind the bulkhead, and its nearing impossibility.

OK well thanks for that then BenR, looks like I will have to hope that Novidem get there supercharger kit up and running for the Mk2? :D

Simon.
