Megane r26 tyre recommendation... 235/40/R18's

  340i
Bit of a long shot asking on here but meeeh ;)

The Megane needs some new tyres soon and I am well and truely stuck on what to go for?

Michelin PS2/3's around £170 each fitted

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric's £130 each fitted (but nobody has "a lot" of stock)

Hankook RS2's £120 each fitted

Would I really notice the £200 difference on a set of Michelins compared to the RS2's?

I know the RS2's are a track / summer tyre, does anybody run these? I cannot find any reviews on the Intoooornet

I've run them, brilliant! Stiffer sidewall, so very responsive, but a sensible compound, so they'll outlast r888 by a mile. They aren't great with standing water, but I'd say they were better than T1R's and parada when wet.

How much tread depth comes on the RS2's standard as normal tyres 7-8mm or 5mm like R888's?!

I run eagles but i'm a f1 ***** so comes down to preference really, heard good things about the hankooks though but one of the reasons I like eagles is for the wet grip. Not that I press on in the wet just nice to know they're capable.

yeah I would normally go for the Eagle F1's, but most places are out of stock... But I am hearing good things about Hankooks?!

I have the rs2's & very good value & playful on track.
Not sure what your looking for but have a look at Federal RSR's as these will be the next must have tyres.
Are used as control tyre in several race series, where 888's were used due to price.
You heard it here first ;)

I've always like the grip levels on PE2's.. they seem very predictable and seemed to suit my driving style perfectly :)

But they do not makes PE2's in 18", on the Pilot Sports... which are £170 odd a tyre, where as the RS2's are £111 for each tyre,

I run eagle f1s on the front and ps2's on the back. Good setup imo

Another vote for the R-S2:star:, been running a set for around a month now on my daily driver. In the dry they are excellent and provide massive amounts of grip, noticeably more than the Goodyear eagle f1's i have run for the last 5 years, braking has also improved with the hankooks. As said above wet/damp performance isn't so good, if driving sensible then they are absolutely fine ( which we all should do when raining;)) but if flooring it then mine tend to let go halfway through 2nd gear then will still be spinning when in 3rd. The goodyears would rarely let go in 2nd and would never spin in 3rd they just dug in and found grip, so the goodyears would be a much better wet tyre if you tend to drive heavy footed in wet conditions. If driving normal tho then as said the hankooks are more than capable of getting you to your destination without crashing and when dry they are hard to beat for the price :)
