MG TF Paint

  Bumder With A Buffer
(posted on DW too but thought id ask on here as well)

Just wondered how thick the paint of MG's were?? Particularly an MG TF?

Im going to guess that its quite thick/hard?

My reason for asking is my old chap asked me if I could give theres a going over soon so i popped up there today to take a look at the paint, fair few swirls and a few scrathes (not too depp though)

Ive only ever done a Renault and Ford.

Any advice would be grand :)

Oh currently have the following products at my disposal..these be okay to use?

Kestrel Das-6

Menzerna PO 85 RD 3.02
Menzerna PO 85 RE 5

White/Orange/Yellow Menz pads (although I do need a new yellow menz pad as mine decided to blow up on its second use (yes blow up!) :( )

Poorboys SSR2.5
CG Wet mirror finish
Poorboys EX-P
SRP, EGP
DJ Blue Velvet, Nattys Blue wax.

...............................................

Hopefully next week il have a couple more products coming my way (some FK1000p, Collinites maybe and of course a couple more pads. (to replace my broken yellow menz one :( )

Any recommendations on pads?? I was going to stick with the menz ones for now in all honesty though.

Unfortunately i don't know how thick the paint is on a TF but they are easy to correct. I managed to do my TF with a Megs G220 and sonus pads and polishes.
I used to use Nattys Blue on my Goodwood Green and it always came up amazing!

Only just seen this.

Thanks for the reply... Nice MG you got there :)

a question though I'm guessing the soft top don't take kindly to snow foam over it???

I never snow foamed the car so i don't know. But don't pressure wash it or around the window area as you'll get wet seats. If you plan on cleaning the soft top, i've heard a nail brush and just your normal shampoo and water will do the trick ;) I've tried the AG hood cleaner/protector and wasn't that impressed :(

Oh and i unfortuntely don't have the MG anymore, i sold it for the 197.
