Mini Cooper S vs. 197

  Nissan 350Z
Already been discussed on here somewhere... but dont you think 16.2 secs as they claim the Mini does 0-100 is a little on the ambitious side for a 1200 kg car with 175 bhp?

Methinks they've got that wrong, or that Mini has been remapped. No way will a 175 bhp car that weighs as much as that does do 0-100 in 16.2 seconds.

Worrying me though, is the fact that a 175 bhp could be quicker than a one with 195 bhp full stop, when theres little difference in weight.

The new Cooper S is as quick as the old supercharged Cooper S works (almost) heavyweight or lightweight the games moved on, most of the motoring press reviews are getting 0-60mph figures of 6.6 - 6.7 secs(ish)
, and thats not even likely to have loosened off yet. 50 -70 0-100 times are also equally impressive. However its more refined and the powersteering feels somewhat detached from the driving experience.
Think the 197 and Cooper S have moved on in many ways but still prefer the 182 and Supercharged S.

That's what I thought too. Using a CTR as an example (cos they're the same weight - 1204kg): a CTR has 22bhp more yet takes 16.9secs 0-100 according to the bible (EVO)
