If some one lives near by could they not go in and ask to look at the old MOTs and logbook etc, then take note of the owners name and address on the logbook and do some investigating on the history that way? Also have a look at the MOTs to see what sort of miles were being done each year and ask the previous owner when/if you can track them down.....
Been to see this. It's had paint, nothing unusual there especially as the 1 owner was a woman!
However, there is no history, the service book has been stamped twice, once at 9k and once at 18k if I remember correctly. There is no other proof of any work at all being done to this car. Also, the interior, to my eyes, isn't 20k. The wheel is in a right state, I know the wheels are rubbish, but it just says over 20k to me! The underside is very clean, the engine bay is spotless. It's a hard one to judge for sure.
For the record there is NO evidence either in the limited paperwork or elsewhere that this car has had a belt change in it's life, ever.
I asked them to chase this up, they haven't got back to me.
Nice car but not the 'barn find' I thought it might have been, I won't be buying it.
Oh and ref the comments about no MOTs, there are none as said, but there is a shed load of tax discs! Odd.

I read into that that they have not kept the current one & will supply you with one when you buy it so you have no chance of checking on the day
IMHO the tax disks proves this is a clocker- why would someone keep all the tax disks & not keep anything else- its all BS

I had my Ph1 with either 32 or 38k on the clock and to be fair the steering wheel and alloys wherent great condition considering. However this is an intresting thread, hope the new owner does come on here!

As above matey, id sooner have an example with 100k and all the receipts than one with this mileage and f**k all.
