New sill repair panels arrived this week. So made a start cutting out the outer sill.
The plan is to weld It below where the top of the side skirts are.
Next step remove the interior and get the inner sills made up and welded in place

So I've welded the outer sill on the ns, inner sill and the mid sill to make it super strong.
The os sill is also welded in place

I've only ever welded once before so I'm happy with how it's turned out so far
I'll be drilling a couple of drain holes along the outer to help stop the issue again

Next job is to grind the welds back, prime them and add some protection and then underseal the car

So we picked the car up from the garage on Saturday. I'm so glad it could be saved and put back on the road in a safe condition

Inner and outer sills welded on both sides, protected and now under sealed

Also fitted a ktec panel filter as I didn't want to loose the Oem look under the bonnet with the ph1 airbox

Cup spoiler fitted

Private plate fitted

And took it out for a drive 👍🏼👍🏼

Noticed that the drivers reverse light wasn't working last night so removed the light to investigate

Some people's efforts are terrible🤦🏻‍♂️

It's a long way off how we want it but it's getting there

Absolutely love this. Silver door strips and clear side repeaters and it'd be perfect.

I even like the wheels!

I have to admit I do prefer the black trims on the ph1
I'm also contemplating a set of the ph1 rear lights

Sorted the door rattle on the passenger door
What was the issue and how did you fix? My drivers door card is rattle/vibrating only on idle about 90% of the time and putting my knee against it stops it. Looks like all the clips and fixings are being used but the door cards were off recently to fix the windows and must not have gone back on perfect. I am sort of reluctant to take it apart in case I make it worse as removing panels like that I have always found never go back perfect.

The bracket that the silver grab handle screws to was rattling. I put. A bit of anti rattle tape behind it and that sorted it

Ours used to stop when I pressed my knee against it. Luckily it was an easy find

Oh really? I would not have thought it was that. I can see the whole bulged aread where the arm rest is moving and pressure above the speaker grill stops it. If that is the case then I might risk taking it off.

Decided to investigate why the high level brake light wasn't working
Removed the spoiler to find a corroded connector

Stripped the wires to find them rotten
Removed the light unit last night and tested in work today the light unit itself is fine just need to make a new loom

Led unit plug stripped and new wires and pins sorted. Jobs a good en 👍🏼

Center led isn't as bright as it should be unfortunately.
Does anyone know if there are any replacement led stips available that would fit as a replacement?

Went o the rs social drive round the peaks on Sunday

The 1st proper drive of how they should be driven...... And it didn't disappoint.

Surprised a few people of how it picks up and holds the road to be fair
Couldn't stop smiling the whole day

However mot this coming weekend and new front abs ring then to start using it for a bit

Replaced the old snapped abs ring at weekend due to the ring causing the standard abs feel under breaking
