mk1 brakes problem

back from the garage. been told im needing new front disks and pads because they are all warped and crap.

also, according to the sheet the guys given me.. the rear wheel "eyes" are leaking?

quoted 160/170 to fix it all. which is money i just dont have right now. thinking of getting parts myself maybe? what do you rekon?

Rear "eyes"? Surely the person means the wheel cylinders? You can get both sides for £45, and i did them myself, just disconnected, then attached back, then bled the brakes. Job done.

mate i wouldnt f**k around with the brakes at all really. Get em done properly and find the money from somewhere. if u go on http://www.euroncap.com/tests/renault_clio_1997/10.aspx and watch the video of how easily a mark1 crumples im sure ul see sense and pay out lol.

thats cheap .. if you came to my garage it would cost the min of £300 for brakes all round its more like £450

Disks and pads your looking £60 or sof from parts place for new ones.

Reart piston well its £15 or so there 2 typres so price depends by a few quid. Easy to fit but IMO chnage the shoes at the same time and re-bleed the brakes it all DIY stuff realy if you've some mechnaical knowedge realy or keen/have a haynes to help.
