mk1 brakes

the brakes on my RT are quite sh*t, just wondering if anyone had any ideas of improving them without spending too much, pads seem ok, discs might need changing and got some new drums to go on once i get the bearins pressed in...

help, i cant stop...........

Get your self some 16v claipers, disks and pads and bolt them on. Thats it, and enjoy much better braking.

Yep 16v calipers about £40 for the pair disks and pads are cheap from GSf etc. This will give you much better braking power. As the standard rt set up is pants.

yer but ill have to get a garage to put em on coz i have no idea with brakes and id rather get someone else to do it really, do u mean mk1 16v calipers

im torn between brakes, and tyres at mo!!?!?

either £100 getting two knew tyres or getting new brake set up

would new pads and vented disks help...would i have to get new calipers for vented disks as mine are sh*ty standard solid disks

You need 16v Calipers for Vented discs.

Standard discs/pads about 60quid, 16v/Williams discs/pads £66.. so spend the £40 on the 16v Calipers and have much better braking.

Ive got some BB Tuning cross drilled discs you could have quite cheap

£40 for a pair of 16v calipers? Wheres that from? Scrappy? Where I looked it was somat like £50 for one caliper!

£40 is the going rate for calipers.. from breakers, people on here who are breaking Clios etc..

matbrown might have a set.. PM him.
