Mk1 Ph3 > Mk1 Ph1 Lights

  Valver Lookalike Mk1 Ph3
Ok I've done this conversion BUT cannot plug the connector in - at the moment it's bodged with cable ties :D.

Have the mk1 ph1 lights got somewhere to plug something in?

Could I just change connectors?

Or are the ph1's purely manual?

Oops yep sorry beam adjustment.

(At least I'm pretty sure it is, what else would the ph3 connector be for?)

Yep I know, hence the thread lol.

I want alternative ways of sorting out the beam adjustment.

Replace certain parts from a mk1 ph1 maybe?

Ideas?

Lol bit late because the conversion has already taken place over a month ago.

So I still need an answer =P.

I'll have to take some pics 2moro when it's light, see what people think I need.

I'm sure it's not an impossible job.

Gotta get it sorted thought because of MOT.

Yep WAY too much hassle.

MOT? Can't remember them ever checking the height adjustment - mainly because it doesn't really do much (it's useless on the Mk1, Phase1/2's anyway)! They just check the beam alignment and change it on the actual headlight.

Either way, it ain't gunna happen without a major load of hassle.. and it's just not worth it.

Don't worry, my system has packed up

There is a manual adjustment actually on the ligts themselves, just above where the conenctor plugs in, its a white knowb type thing you turn.

All it means is you won't be able to adjust the height in car if you are towing or have a large weight in the back, but i guess that isn't gonna be happening much?

No, I wasn't planning to tow many heavy things with my 1.2 ;).

I'll take some pics and you'll have to tell me what's what Lunner :).
