mk1 phase 2 clio engine change 2 1.8 16v need help



  RT 1.4 8v + 1.8 16v
hi i have a mk1 phase 2 clio and i have also got a mk1 phase 1 clio 1.8 16v
i brought the 1.8 2 use but the shell is completly fucked and i wont 2 put the engine from that into the phase 2
i need 2 nw if the wiring loom is the same or do i need 2 change every thing
please help me

Wrong section BTW, but nevermind.

You have the Ideal situation, You have a whole donor car. Change the whole lot IMO, literally everything. Engine, interior and engine looms, shafts, struts, rear beam, front bumper and bonnet

The only thing I might leave is steering rack (especially if there is no PAS on the 1.2) as the PAS racks can be trouble.

i have already dun all the interiour evenin the carpet
im finkin take the engine out on the sub frame and swop it straight over
and see if the loom is ok if not the change that over
im also finkin put the torchin bar on aswell because its got rear disks
i also need 2 no if its worth changin the brake servo

phase 3 are bubble lights (yours)

mk 1 ph 2 is the square headlights with colour coded grille

mk 1 ph 1 is the one with the non colour coded dual strip grille

oh isit i always thought it was a phase 2 iv brought some parts and wen i was asked it was a phase 2
i need 2 find some 1 that has dun an engine chnage i fink it is quite straight forward bcoz iv got 2 cars and there both run so all im goin 2 do is take it all out of 1 and then put it straight in the otha car every thing is the same measurments im hopin the loom is the same

ive got a dictionary lying around somewhere if that's any use?.

Rip everything off the valver & refurb it ie paint the rear beam, subframe etc then put it all on the newer car, I'd also get the bonnet modified so it fits with the ph3 lights and put the valver front arches on ;)

well i think i can do it on my own iv got some of my m8s helpin me out aswell i just need 2 no about the wiring of the car is it different or the same?

im goin 2 put the old head lights on, the bonnet, boot and mirrors im not goin 2 put the arches on
yea thats whatt i goin 2 do spray all the subframe and etc
i also wont 2 clean the engine getin it lookin nice b4 it goes in the 1.4
 
If you put the valver engine in the Ph3, I *think* the bonnet wont shut thats why there is the bulge.

But to be able to swap the bonnets over, you'll need wings, lights, bumper..
