mk2 clio 1.8 16valve

  1998 1.2 8v mk2 clio
hi there im new to all this i currently own a mk2 phase1 1.2 clio lucks quite smart to be honest sunburnt orange lowered 60 mm on 16" 172 alloys its chipped got bigger injectors fuel pressure regualtor uprated fuel pump a moddified 1.4 cam and a vernier pully goes fairly well for what it is 93bhp on the rollers

any way to the point i have just bout a complete front end, engine, wiring loom, ecu etc from a mk1 1.8 16v clio to put in it has anyone done it before how easy is it from what i can make out its fairly simple with no great modifications i dont have PAS and staying that way mainly just a bit confuesed wen it comes to wiring as i am a mechanic not a auto electrician any help pics hint or tips would be very much appreciated thanks lee

if it's a mk2 clio you have then it'll be a bugger tbh I would think. Would be much better putting a 172 lump in there as the wiring will be totally different for the 1.8 as it's out of a mk1. If you meant mk1 ph2 however, then yeah it's a piss easy conversion and the wiring is just plug and play

The Valver block is good, in a mk1 Clio or 19, what you are doing is crazy tbh.

I'm sure it would "fit" but you will probably need custom mounts etc and probably a custom downpipe. Not really all that sure about what would be involved but would really say you would be better off putting a 172 lump in there as it will be easier and possibly cheaper as you won't need all the custom stuff and the wiring will be plug and play (I would think).

thanks for the comment bout it looking good the wheels fit the arches just nice with no rubbing n 15" look far too small

There the easy way of just swopping all the Valver stuff or the more difficult way of mathcing wiring up but on a Phase 1 its no huge issue.
Its been done before its not difficult realy.
