MK2 Ph1 - 172 bumper/wings fitting

I'm having a bit of trouble getting my new 172 bumper onto my 1.2 RN. The wings have gone on fine, the bumper just doesn't seem to fit though, I did think it might have been to do with the impact plastic stuff behind the bumper but it looks identical to my old RN one.

Anyone who's done this mod got any tips for me?

It just doesn't seem to go on right, I can't pinpoint what exactly it is. Is that what's stopping it from going on right then?
