Right, I tried to start this thread the other day but forgot to sign in (new to this forum lol) so when i did sign in and clicked return I lost the full thread soooo....

I bought my car around feb/march this year and I've done a few lil changes since... I don't really have a definate direction I want this to go so any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D

the first thing I did to pass time was tape off the fog lights to see what they look like before going ahead and spraying them, but I dont have pictures of that lol soo, heres the sport grill

It probably would've been a better idea to remove the bumper first but I think that'd do more damage than good ha... you can see the blacked out fogs here... just

After fitting this I went a little crazy/stupid and due to the can of spray paint chilling in my garage I went about spraying the fog lights.

Blue lights and yellow fogs arent a good look, this needs to be changed ha

After quite a long time trying to remove the side strips to spray them black ( they were fading quite bad) I resorted to the halfords clio guide ha, I got them off, sprayed them and fitted 1.2 bullets I got from a scrap yard, I realised it was a bad idea and sanded them blank. You can see the difference, between the side strip and the door handle that still needs seeing to.

I was bored one day during uni and decided to go to my mates to put on some fox evo 3 alloys which he kindly donated :D

An unexpected student loan installment was the muse to invest in this :D

This was a bad purchase... I went to the garage to get a knocking noise seeing to (turned out to be broken engine mounts) a guy down there offered me this for £30, I wanted a bit of extra noise but not this much lol

Not sure I like the black fog surrounds. Apart from that it looks pretty neat.

  mk2 ph1 1.4 S
The 1.2 bullets just say 16v rather than it saying 1.4 16v as per his normal ones :)

Wheels suit it, nice free mod lol

  Mk2 Ph2

when i got it i was a bit stupid and thought itd be amusing to say its a 1.2... i realised that it was a stupid idea, does anyone reccomend any springs i should invest in? thanks for the feedback :D

  Fiesta ST-3
forget springs. Get coilovers. Ebay rokkor ones have been used by quite a few people if ur budget is low. I have FK's and they are a much better option IMO

thanks chris, i'll have a look into them both, student loan coming in soon so i should be scraping speed bumps in no time :D i got the idea for the fog lights from the 172/182 fogs :)

Surely a set of springs would be fine for lowering. Coilovers are a bit OTT, no?

wouldn't i have to get a set of dampers to go with the springs? my mate dropped his clio on springs with standard dampers and something ( i cant remember exactly what ) broke so the top of the tyre was well into the wheel arch

  1.2 Dynamique 16v
mines on eibach springs on standard non-sport struts. no probs with mine, low enough for my liking and not too hard!

  1.2 Dynamique 16v
cheers. I got mine for 300 (with tyres).

you don't need to spend a fortune for them, just shop around mate.

whats interesting is that i dropped it on photoshop; as low as looked drivable... the actual ride height is almost spot on to the photoshop lol

now, so far ive been driving very careful; not exceeding 30 for fear of the tires or arches being damaged, but from what i can see is that they give a great ride, a little bouncy: kind of like off roading in a land rover ha... but after i get them raised, a tire changed and tracking sorted tomorrow i'll take it for a proper drive and post an update

C+C welcome :) thanks

FFS That's shocking! Thank god everything was okay, though!

Looks 100 times better on coilies :D

thanks joey, im just glad i got them... do you reckon its worth bringing up with the couriers? the state the package arrived in... they mustve had a right field day with it ha

Whats the ride quality likes compared to standard at that height then?

i havent had the balls to give it a proper drive yet, needs raising and tracking first but, its quite a bit bouncier ha, seems to take a corner well from what ive seen though, ill post a proper write up about it in a week or so once its been tracked, raised and ive had a good amount of time to get comfortable with it ha

My exhaust was the only thing that scraped - and that's because it was kind of hanging off! Oh and maybe the gear linkage. lol
Just go VERY slowly over speed bumps! You never really know if you're going to clear them or not... so just be careful

I never had mine set up properly, so I never really chucked it about much - I imagine with proper tracking and camber settings, it should be pretty good!
Oh, and I left the height the same as when it was on my car btw :)

ClioSport Admin
Oh... I twisted them down a bit before i give them to the garage lol... Whoops, well I'll get it set up properly, give it a little chuck about and make a little write up later on

Thanks mate, how have you found them? Can it take some throwing around? It's too low to throw about at the moment lol

I'm from Teesside (Billingham)
Might get some Rokkor's how hard are they to fit ?

I got them done at a garage for £60 mate, I don't have the tools to fit them myself... Or the knowhow ha

should get some clear side indicators aswell.

Looks really good mate

Thanks mate, they are clear lol, the lights shining on them were orange though, I've edited the Tarmac to be the right colour lol

Looks loads better on the coilovers, not keen on the exhaust and the makeshift exhaust cut out though :(
