More 182 Problems

Last weekend after driving home, had the air con on and set about 17degrees.

Get up sunday morning to put the fan on, nothing, no spin, no noise just a buzz from the dash. Pull the fuse for the heater to check its ok, buzz goes away. Booked into renault, renault cant do anything but confirm that its not working.? (surely me saying it dont work is enough??)

Apparently a resistor has blown inseries of the motor, tho i think not...i think its just jammed or something.........

More and more probs with the clio, makes me wanna sell it.



Its due a 24k service, and needs 2 tyres....eeek... and its a March 04 one..!

£205 for a 24k service....

Got kwikfit down too £96 per Michelin Exalto fitted...

Ill stick to Costco for mine, £78 fitted or something like that.

As for servicing I paid for 3 years when I got the car

Sorry to say I think it cost me less than £205 for 3 years too and thatll cover me for my 36k too. Seeing as its at 24k within 16 months

I bought my 182 knowing French cars are pish, so I dont moan too much, remember when it was on top gear and jeremy compared it to a cute wee hyper puppy, well you forgive it for the faults. like when it pisses on your leg.

rory182 - get OEM pads from bbperformancetuning for £29 inc CS discount and vat and either fit them yourself or get a local garage to fit them
ive got my 24k in next 2 wks, need front disks and pads, dealer was £100 discs, £60 pads + £100 fittings
i got discs and pads for £96 inc delivery, local garage fitting them tom for £50 cash, saves me £114 which goes towards cost of service, also got 5litres of shell helix ultra 5w40 for £33 for them to put in

yeh £50 woulda been more like £35-£40 ideally, i wanted to do them myself but too busy working late and diy at weekends lol (sick of it !) but ive known guys at local garage years and they do a great job on everything and i trust them, they are also cool with fitting parts supplied by me which a lot of garages wont entertain, theyll fit springs and zorst if i ever buy them

my local garage lets me use his ramp n stuff free, always offering me a saturday job. £27 an hour he charges to work on my car, i supply parts he does it VAT free cash in hand.

If i listed all the problems i have had with the car, it would put people buying on of these things off for life.

Ive probably had 20 faults with the thing, and its just not right. Unsure on what state the brakes are in, tho they wont be getting changed...i dont use the brakes..

Its gone in for....

Clunking in 1st gear under hard acceleration

Steering out of align

SERV & STOP & ((!)) light coming on

Window washer inop

Pulling too the left

Front splitter missing (not fitted when got the car)

Cruise Control button not working

Rear window heater strips pealing

Fuel Contamination (that was mum)

Heating Inop

Plastic Panel under seat cracked (damaged when in for fuel comtam)

Rear Bumper Loose (bolts just decided to undo itself)

Rear Shock Leaking (spotted when in for fuel contam)

Wing Scratched (they took it too there bodyshop and made things worse)



Thats a few, have too check the paperwork too see what else went wrong with the damn thing..

Can someone tell me how I sign up to/buy 3 years free servicing? Sounds like its worth doing, have ordered mine from tinternet tho, would I still be able to?

i got the 3 years servicing through Arnold Clark, the dealers I bought it from. So Arnold Clark do 3 years or 36k miles servicing for me for £200 or so

lets face it none of us brought a clio for build quality and reliability, take it out for a good spanking you soon want to keep it
