I agree Nod, I also like the exhaust look, not sure how long it will stay that bright fresh colour with this shitty weather though, I assume you can't wash the wrap once its turned brown.

Well i thought french car show was an improvement this year. Last year i only stayed till 11 and i was there till 6 this year. Heres some pics I have....

wow that front end is low! can you take a look at my thread:

and maybe take some measurements next time you take a wheel off? in my experience if you go that low there will be very little travel left on the front shocks (even if you shorten the bump stops like I did)

Will do mate when i next go out. It does feel alittle crashy over bumps. On track it will be fine tho. If you look at cup racers there low tho.

yes they are, but they ride on biliies which probably have different length shock bodies and stuff
would be very helpful if you do take the pics mate

Cheers mate, i will take pics. I think my shocks have gone after looking up other peoples issues. Somebody else had the exact same problem as mine. Very loud clunking from the rear over any bumps and he removed the shocks and put the standard cup shocks put back on. He sent them off and the rear shocks had shot. Ive only had the kit alittle over a month aswell on a soft setting. Not very happy tho so far. I understand they need properly setting up but there was no instructions/guides/settings included in the kit which i think there should be.

Funny how while I knew gaz had a bad reputation I still went for this kit; same thing with my milltek but none of them gave up so far. I can't understand how a product being assembled in the same place by the same people with the same parts can last quite a long time and sometimes fail after one month
I think gaz should have a member here and at least try and give some advices

I've just spoke to gaz (Dave) and he said if I bring it down to him he will remove the shocks and check the drawings they have and also test the shocks. Also I mentioned about the front on bumpy rounds about it throwing you around and he said it will more than likely be the bump stop so they are sorting that aswell. I will keep this updated and I'll be going around the end of the month.

I'm going to drive down to gaz in essex as I don't want to have to put the cup suspension back on. Plus with the refitting the correct parts they will be able to notice/rectify any future problems. Plus I won't have to pay for messing about swapping suspension kits.

one more thing: I'm curious what's the minimum travel that GAZ recommend on the front shocks- for example is it ok to have about 2,5 cm between the shock body and the bump stop?
I was in this situation and they advised to cut the bump stops without any other technical details. seems to me like a bad design somewhere.
I'd be very curious to take some measurements on other coilover kits.
One thing is certain: you can't go 60 mm lower on the front (as they say) and still have travel left

I'm going to make the cup into a cup racer rep. I've ordered the main sponser stickers Elf/Michelin which ill be getting at the end of the month. I've ordered some tow stickers which should be here tomorow. I had some names and numbers made up in fluro yellow. Got names and numbers for the rear quarter, name for the rear and number for the windscreen...

Hopefully everything will be on for the end of the month and ill take pics when im finished. The stickers are all to scale and are going to be put in the right locations btw. So it wont look poo :rasp:

Got some more stickers through today. The Renault sport ones are for the lower doors and the website sticker is for the rear window...

Just waiting on the Elf and Michelin stickers now, then ll have all of the main sponsors stickers. Then i can put my own around them. Hopefully they will all be on by next weekend.

Going to clean the car in a sec so if the weather holds ill take some pics.

Update!

Managed to get some more stickers...

Got them all put on and then went to coco uk in fleckney to get the side strips and and boot handle surround wrapped in Matt black and also to fit the Matt black sun strip. They also made me the ngk and performance friction brakes stickers for the front wings...

And after...

Just waiting now for the cooksport stickers and then it's going back to coco uk so they can add red and white design throughout the car.

Loving how it's coming together now

Just got a pair of omp tow rings for the front and rear. Got them from john harris @ demon tweeks. I phoned him yesterday at 2ish and got them first thing this morning They will be stripped and powder coated red. I need to get a 13mm drill bit aswell then I'll wack them on.

Hopefully should be able to make it to css12 as long as I don't get called into work.

Went for a drive the other day and took a couple of pics..

Got the cooksport stickers through today..

Applied a few today. Still got to do the doors and bonnet..

Will hopefully get the passenger seat in tomorrow and get the front tow eye done.

Cheers dude, it dosent handle as good as the Saxo yet but it is quicker. With the gaz coilovers sorted, polybushed all-round, white line rear anti-roll bar and pure motorsport top mount/strut brace kit it should be very close to what the Saxo was. It needs the cambelt/dephaser doing soon and a clutch change so I've got to prioritise them and then I can get back on with the mods. Shame the cambelt/dephaser change is soo f**king exspensive.

UPDATE!!!!

got the cooksport stickers put on the bonnet and doors today (excuse the crap dirty pics)...

Needed new brakes so got some pagid oe discs and ebc red stuff pads. Dont really need to spend s**t loads on amazing pads as its light as tits anyway...

Should hopefully get them on for the weekend. Next up is too get the passenger seat in and get the front tow eye fitted.

Got the front brakes done.

The difference was noticed straight away. The old brakes were shocking and didn't give you much confidence late braking.

Whilst the wheels were off I gave them a good clean. They have devolved a weird stain so out came the t-cut and then they were sealed in rim wax...

Didnt do I between the spokes as I couldn't be arsed lol.

Whilst the car was in the air I also raised the front 20mm so it should handle a little better now and also won't hit the bump stops...

Getting some bolts for the seat in the week and still need to get a 13mm Hess drill bit for the tow eye. Then it's prep time for trax.

UPDATEEEE!!

Managed to source a cage. It's a bolt in half cage with cross bracing and harness bars. It will do for now until I get a full cage but this one keeps the weight down so may keep it. I also managed finally to get the passenger seat in and get the front two eye fitted...

Going to crack on with a proper clean tomorrow then go for a nice drive and some pics. Only need to do another 100 miles then the front brakes will be fully bedded in.

Hopefully before trax I'll have an rs tuner fitted with 98 Ron map and overrun.
