Driving along on saturday and the clio just died on me and wouldn't start, not a clue, it was turning over but that was it. After waitin 30 mins for R.A.C the fool got out and asked if there was fuel in it to which i laughed and said of course, so he opens my fuel cap, inserts a tube and basically sucks fuel out and sprays it all over the pavement, then with a smirk he says i told u mate there is no fuel, i said listen t**t u have just sprayed it all over the floor, he sends me down the petrol station with all passin cars seein me walk with a petrol can now laughin cos they 2 think i ran out of fuel. Gets back and puts more fuel in and of course it still don't work, so now he says ok mate it must be your pump, i said kindly shut up good sir (not quite like that but u get the idea). Got towed to autoworld in willenhall and car is still there so its been fun. They seem to think its some problem with immobiliser, nothing to do with fuel. I thought havin a '06 reg 182 there wouldn't be any problems, just done 2500mls so a bit gutted at the stress already, anyway if anyone saw me gettin towed sorry if i looked damn miserable. Anyone in the area of autoworld pop in an see the ride, blue with tints lovely. Hope i get it back soon boo hoo.

Ive found the RAC to be much better than the AA.

Id kick off at being made to walk to the garage and with his general attitude.

Got it from carcraft (i know they r robbin gets, but i sign paperwork before i think), I have got a 5 year R.A.C membership to go with my 5 year warranty which i was told covers just about everything, cost more of course but surely its worth it. Just bought the mrs a saxo vtr so looks like i will be drivin that for a bit.

You have an 06 plate 182 ? You get 3 years warranty from Renault FREE and 3 years AA cover FREE . Get back on to carcraft mate . They've misold you the warranty and RAC cover , robbing b*stards .How much was it if you don't mind me asking ?

It cost £12995 and they told me there was a 2 year warranty with 1 year R.A.C car cover, they told me that the waranty didn't cover everything so like a fool i paid extra for this 5 year thing, gotta get paperwork out to see what the extra was, don't think it was a lot cos i know at the time i jumped at the chance and they said this extra warranty covers everything, yep what a sucker

Careful with extra warranties.

My mate who is skint needed a car and got a loan for 3k. Rather than get a 1.6 Focus the image conscious div got an Alfa. He said he wasn't worried as he bought a warranty. I laughed knowing that it probably only covers the engine and gearbox as opposed to the items that are likely to go wrong.

His cambelt went and totalled the engine. £1500 to repair but it turns out the warranty only pays the first £500!!! So even if a warranty covers "everything" there can be other limitations!

Pretty bad you may think but these warranties are a far bigger p*ss take than that - they are now refusing to pay out at all as they are saying it is wear and tear despite the service book showing that it had just had a new cambelt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd bet that the warranty in this case is equally as useless. Is the car an import by the way?

You get 3 years warranty and 3 years AA cover even if its an import , unless its been sourced from Cyprus or Holland .

Yeah bit you've already got a full 3 warranty from Renault and 3 years AA assistance FREE .

Do you know where carcraft sourced the car from , is it an import ?

If you want to find out phone Renault customer services , give em your reg number or VIN number , they will tell you exactly where the car came from , and what warranty and AA cover you have .

Phone Renault UK , give them the cars details . They will tell you what cover you have . Then get back onto carcraft mate , cos they have misold you the warranty and RAC cover , you didn't need it .

If they say hard luck , then tell them that your going to seek legal advice .

When you get it sorted with renault . Get the AA to tow the car to your nearest Renault dealership and they will sort it out free , under the warranty

I bought a 2nd hand punto as a cheap runabaout from a puntoland type dealership. It was advertised as sold with full 12 month unlimited warranty you can use at any Fiat agarage to have work done. After deal all going through I noticed in the warranty book that you could indeed get your car fixed at any Fiat dealer. However, it'd only cover the first £100! The unlimted meant it was unlimited claims, but only to £100 for each one. What a f00king cowboy! When I went back and complained he said if you went to the right place you could get anything done for £100. I said it wouldn't cover 2 hours labour at aFiat garage. Unfortunately I started to lose my cool so he got rude with me, I got nowhere.
