My 182 Trophy

Car  Trophy 182
Thanks to Alex of this forum, I purchased my 182 trophy on saturday, and took it FCS on sunday. The car is standard apart from a Ktec group n ecu. Heres a few pics:

Havent got to much planned for it.

Change the aerial,
Possibly half roll cage,
Harnesses,
Possibly exhaust and air filter,
Detail clean.

I previously had an evo 7, but so far enjoying this alot. Its first track day is at brands hatch in august
 
One of the few trophys that had the exhaust sitting nicely,... i seriously cant believe the amount of exahusts that were wonky or sagging

They have been painted Silver... I only spotted this at FCS which is strange as I spent 2 hours following him back from Alex's house after collecting it.

Thats My Cup in a few of the photos :cool:

Just a couple of newbie questions though. Does anybody else find when you put your foot down the car sometimes has a tendency to pull to one side ?

Im just trying to work out whether its torque steer or my tracking is out ?

Also when the car comes to a rest and I turn the engine off the exhaust makes a lot of "tinging" noises. Is this normal ?
 
my exhaust does that! and yes its normal! although this is the only 182 (out of the 3 i have owned) were it does it the most :o

Dave Yes to both the above... You can have a drive of my cup to compare if you like...

Remember when I took you for a spin in mine before you got the Trophy the exhaust stank of burning CAT and made that noise.
 
Is that the one that some idiot dealer decided might look better with silver trim?
It didn't and i'm glad someone put it back to standard.

Pass, Dave got the car from Alex F off here, and Alex got it from a Welsh Traffic cop AFAIK ?
 
Hey, if it is it doesn't really matter, it's been put back to standard and that's what counts:D
 
Had a half day today so decided to give my clio a good clean.

Started with a good jet hose with the karcher.
Then washed in meguirs gold class shampoo using the two bucket method.
Then cleaned the wheels with meguirs hot wheels wheel cleaner.
Then dried off using a waffle weave towel.
Then cleaned the windows with domestic window clearner.
Then applied meguirs tyre gel.
Then gave the car a polish using auto glym super resin polish.
Then finished the car off with dodo juice light fantastic.

To say im pleased with the results is a massive understatement.

I also got round to fitting my Renault audio box. Great bit of kit.

Looks good Dave, So the Dodo Juice did the trick! Im fitting my Tune point tomorrow hopefully it all goes well.
 
Its pretty straight forward to fit. I only had to cut one little hole in the back of the glove box.

I had a bit of result today and got paid some moeny owing to me from my old job. So I think im gonna get my new tyres.

What tyres do people recommend for the clio sport ?
 
I would stick with the PE2 you have fitted (Are they that low they need repalcing?) Remeber your rear breaks will need looking at soon as well :)
 
They pretty low and I think they will be to low to do the track day in August.

What size tyres do the turinis have again ?

Ill get my brakes done after the track day. Already seen from K-tec the front and rear brake set up im going for.
 
Didnt realise the michelins are so pricey. £78 a tyre.

I might go for the toyo t1-rs. Ive had them on two previous evo's and they worked a treat. Theyre only £53 a tyre
 
mr d bruce 195 are for 172's 205's are for 182's people sometimes put 205's on the 172 not the other way round hope it helps;)
