My Car (A Story) (No 56k)

  500bhp Scoob

Had a few requests about info and pics of my car... so thought id share it with everyone...

My car started off as a standard 1.4 RT 5 door, got given it from a friend who had just had the top end rebuilt due to the cambelt snapping at around 6000rpm. He said it wasnt reliable enough to get him to france and back, and opted for a honda civic instead.

I got the car before I even had a provisional license, so I stored it in a private parking area which is meant for people who live along the road i live on.

A guy who didnt like the fact that I parked in his parking space, decided to use his van to vandelise most of the body panels.
Police didnt want to know as no-one witnessed it, even tho his paint from his works van was on my car, and paint from my car was on his.

Heres a few pics of what damage got done... some of it less noticeable than other bits

I decided instead of scrapping it, Id make it look good (well in my oppinion). So after shelling out for new bumpers, sideskirts, new door, wings etc I sent it off to the bodyshop for a full respray in subaru 555 blue

I then decided to do an engine transplant (which is still ongoing at the moment) so heres a few more pics...
Clean empty engine bay...

I did this mainly because i was bored, and i had a few people asking me about my car, and its history.

Feel free to comment about it, I know its not to everyones taste :)

Looking good mate and excellent work........What engine is it exactly?

Are you a mechanic?

  500bhp Scoob

the engine is out of a volvo 400 series, its basically an RSi engine with a turbo strapped to it.
But alot of things need bodging to make it fit, as ive found it.

Im not a mechanic, am an electronics engineer. Have learnt all this just by diving in and getting on with it. Would love to be a proper mechanic thou, just havent got the paperwork to get a job

Was thinking about this engine swap as well. Can you pm me any info you have about it and how much of a pain it was.

Cheers in advance.

Dave

Ps nice car :D

thats looking really nice mole. its good you made the effort after the vandalisation.

You learn a lot messing round with the car.

The engine conversion looks good, any idea of how much power? what boost on the turbo and the engine is built for it isnt it?

LOOKS SO COOL, U MUST AHV SPENT ££££££ ON THE CAR:D:D

Oh yes, its cost me alot, but I think its worth it... couldve been worse, I couldve been a gambler, and have nothing to show for the money ive spent.

As for power etc, im keeping that quiet until its fully running etc :devilish:

I think it being a 5 door aswell is going to shock your average person in their saxo etc

Defo, instead of lowering yourself to his level or scrapping it, youve made into a smart, soon to be quick 5 door.

Nuff respect to you.

Not ready to start quoting figures yet, atleast wait until its on the road etc... but i do have a few things to do to it still, after its run in etc :devilish:

Thanks for the comment clart :)

Suprised i havent had the "Shouldve scrapped it instead" and the "You should drive it into a wall, itd look better that way" type of comment

I think it looks real gd! Just need some clear side repeaters to finish the job :p Nice colour and bodykit looks way better than standard.

Have you got some dodgy camber going on with the front wheels?

  500bhp Scoob

yea, the camber has been sorted with some new shocks, basically got sent the wrong shocks, that fitted perfectly, and were stamped up with the right part number etc.

Cant afford to go through tyres like it did when them shocks were first on... 500 miles from new to wrecked.

As for the clear side repeaters... ive got a new set sitting on my desk :)
