My Computer - category view?

I'm being a computer leper today. For some reason I have lost the category view when I open "My Computer" and I can't remember where/how to change it back. To clarify, the category view of drives, folders, remote devices etc. has gone, and it's behaving just like any other window in explorer.

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I've tried the obvious views and show in groups etc. but to no avail...

what do you mean catergory view? you don't mean show in groups?

well i dunno, i mean, i have mine as view - details, show in groups, arrange by type. not sure what else you mean from the my computer display. don't suppose you have ascreen dump of how it used to be?

In an instance of explorer, is View..Explorer Bar...Folder unchecked?

Nah its all sorted now. It was just the view by types that was missing. Nicely edited first post btw David
