Not my finest work....

That was the killer for me, justification of fuel. My previous Impreza was addicted to the stuff.

Red on white looks crap imo.
Black on white looks 'OK'
White on white looks great, imo.

My 8 MR inhales fuel. If you drive sensibly it's not so bad, think I get around 24 to 26. Drive it hard you'll be lucky to see 10.

My mates used to see around 36-42 on a run. You just need to get a standalone ecu and have someone who will run it lean until it starts to det, then bring it back a notch. That's obviously at a cruising speed though!! 70-80mph is where his was mapped to be über economical.

Yeah I can believe that, however an evo isn't really a motorway car lol :D

^260? and the rest

Dare I say, I think the wheels need spacing a touch. Not bad manz spacing but looks like 10mm would help.

The 7 which I had was worse iirc. Full tank for not much money. Seemed to go quicker than I filled it. Lol. Awesome cars and jims looks a peach

Few little changes to the Evo this week.

The car had a terrible set of hids fitted which made everyone flash me constantly so removed those for some osram bulbs.

Also removed the HKS Bov as wasn't my scene;

One of the popular mods is to relocate the battery slightly to allow better air flow to be filter and also run a different filter. This is the set up before. HKS shroom filter aka the 'grit muncher' and battery in standard slot.

Battery removed and relocated with the relocate kit left a lovely patch of visible rust!

Opened the induction kit and the maf adaptor plate was rubbish and it was missing the turbo reducer pipe. Not happy! Luckily my pal had a spare to use for the time being until the replacement arrives. Fitted the filter and this is how it looks. Positioned a lot closer to the front arch for better flow.

So got to work trying to make the rust look a little better. I scrubbed off the surface rust and treated with krust.

Then it was pikey time so broke out the paint brush and coated the area in etch primer and then a couple of coats of scotia white.

Certainly not the best finish but with the filter back in I think it looks a lot better than rust.
