Went to the Isle of Skye for new year with my mrs, my mate his mrs n two of our mrs friends.

Comments welcome, Alan.

Ahh im gonna be up near Fort William come the end of Saturday....i can't wait.

The scenery, the fresh air, THE ROADS!!

When we visited the Kyle of Lochalsh (sp) the road from Fort William to Skye was amazing!! Even in a Jeep ;)

I've Google World-ed the route from Glasgow up to Spean Bridge and the route is truly epic.
Mostly Loch-side roads and mountain type passes.

Just hope things aren't too wet 'n' wild...wishful thinking i know.

Keep an eye on met check matey....on the way back going over the cairngorms onto the A9 there was a fair blanket of snow, 15mph drifting on some of the slower sections lol..

nice one Al, I was in Onich not far from Fort Bill, ollie you'll maybe get lucky but bear in mind Fort William is the wettest place in the UK...

Ollie my dad's a Laird of Lochaber he has a sporting estate in Spean Bridge with fishing rights to the Spean ;) not bad for £21 off ebay.

I stayed here (it was greyer and wetter and there was no shitty freelander):

Nice pics, i was hoping to take my gf on a short weekend to a lodge like that at some point. How busy it on Skye?

Its the type of place you can go to and not see anyone the whole time your there if you dont want to, very quiet.

Population is around 6000 IIRC.

100% spot on matey....you got family up that way or something??

Nah, saw the photo with the move over sign. That meant single track road. Looked up the map and the place was obvious and the island bit fitted with the photos!

Damn im good! lol

lol, half the island is single track. Most of my folks are up there so I end up going up quite a bit. Can't beat it for scenery etc in the summer.

Were you up the north end of the island at all?

Btw if anyone is thinking of going and wants somewhere to stay try THIS place, my uncle and aunties holiday cottages - guatantee it's top notch ;).
