My new BMW.

Car  Never above 25mpg
Well... picked this up this morning...

Silver 318Ci Coupé with black heated comfort interior, cruise, trip computer, crappy 7 spoke alloys, 115k, FSH and 3 keys.

Strange choice many would think, rather than opting for a 325ci or 330 but at the moment it was simple, no extra on insurance(a little less actually) a bit of comfort and once the Clio's gone I'll be out of debt and this should last me at least 6-10 months :o

Initial impressions whilst driving it back this morning:
More comfort
Quieter
Nice place to be

Not as much feel for the road
Lighter steering
Lighter clutch
No power(only 148bhp)

First modification is a clubsport M-tech gearknob, new off of CotswoldBMW's eBay site which is shorter as the other one's a bit big for how low down you're sat in it!

Anyway, pictures, the reason why I bought it was simple, it's in very very good condition!

^ LOL. Nice first comment.

Good upgrade from the Clio, but I'd have bought a 320, since they're vastly better. IMO. But you had your reasons.

It is Ali! Put my foot down and nothing there!!

Dad has the 320 and sounds nicer too due to the 170bhp and 6 cylinders but this is a stop-gap too. 325 next I think :)

Oooo, really nice mate. Keep us updated on what it's like, fancy one of these myself. Let me know in 6-10 months if you're selling it too ;) Aha.

Ta.. it was advertised for £3500 :)

Just filled up 7/8ths with fuel and that cost me £60 but I should see a nice return from that.

Only has a tapedeck in it at the moment though and I've had a nosey on bimmerforums and apparently the wiring's already in the car for the multichanger? But we'll have to see, otherwise I'll just buy a new stereo with an ipod adaptor and leave the old video ipod in the car.

It's very relaxing to drive. The drive on the way back from picking it up (only 40 miles) was one of the worst I've experience, 3x slow drivers in a row, topped by somebody going 5 miles an hour down a 30!!

Anyway, just tidying things up at the minute, making it my own.

Nice mate; decent, solid cars. Can't go wrong, especially with how cheap they're getting nowadays.

Lovely looking car, looks mint! Although i would say that ;)

As you say, the tank rather large lol, i got £70 in mine last night, which should last about 400 miles or so @ 30mpg. e46's are blooming bargains at the mo, i paid roughly the same for mine :D

Im hoping my girlfriend will get a ci convertable as her first car, something cheap to basically rag about once shes passed her test before getting something better.

She has an 02 320 d manual at the moment which is a sack of utter s**t.

Nice car.

Wonder how it handles in the snow when it comes ??

Sam!

Tis very nice mate. Very comfy. Shame about power. You will look the part when in your work clothes ;)

Wonderful car, congrats mate and welcome to the "knowsit" club ;)

Haha. I'm years off before I can own a Z4 Coupé ;)!!

Warren, 325 for insurance purposes! But we'll see, I'm quite taken with this at the moment :)

Bonxy, not good is the answer you're looking for!!

Yes Pete! My E30 is back up for sale and dad didn't want me buying that so opted for a newer BMW instead! Comfort over noise I've found :)

Chris, I'm not a fan of oil burners! They smell and diesel's expensive (I dont do many miles in a year anyway)

Thanks Fletcher, you can buy it from me if you like ;) ?

I'm glad you liked the heated seats Will !
