I get it Sunday dude, so we'll sort a mini meet or something.

I'll give them a call, tried a place in Oxford, place in Brackley, and then a specialist somewhere I can't remember lol.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeettt!!! Bring it to Llandow next week? :p

There's supposed to be a BMW specialist in town. John Darby I think.

  330i. E30 Touring.
So the three places I've called have all said in between £500-£600 for cambelt, aux belt and water pump fitted. Wow. Anywhere you'd recommend Rob or Mike? I don't mind paying the money, but don't wanna be screwed given the price you said it should be around.

Jesus.

For £600, I'll drive to yours and do it, lol.

No idea re: specialists tbh. Maybe put up a wanted thread on the E30 forum? Or are none of the Clio specialists near you? I can send you a guide I give them- it's a doddle.

Great news about Automax. I'm down there Friday afternoon.

Come down for a day out dude. Watch my dci kicking out clouds of black smoke! Hehe

Wow. I love this car! Picked it up at lunchtime and went on a nice country road drive on the way home, stopped off in Bourton On The Water and had a few people say how tidy it was. It drives amazingly, and that noise.

Childhood dream was definitely worth fulfilling.

So three days in, and still loving it.

Parked it next to my mums 1 series convertible yesterday, and the size is crazy. The only way the E30 is bigger looks wise is the length, and that's not a massive amount!

The popped for a drive with a couple of mates. One who owns a 4.0HC Chimaera, the noise is epic, so so nice. The other who owns the mini, the thing is spotless, we rebuilt it around 2 years ago, but he's always playing with it someway or another and it's always getting better! Not a bad line for three 24 year olds ha!

During the drive, with those two knowing theer cars very well, it gave me a chance to stretch the legs of the E30, it's one capable machine, much more than I thought it would be. The only niggle I have, is that when pushing in, the steering wheel has about 2/3cm before it becomes really responsive, and coming from the Clio, it's a bit wierd. It's something I imagine I'll get used to, but will also be bettered by my plans of an E46 rack.

It looks so cool! What's it like speed wise compared to the Clio? Also what's I insurance like?

seriously tempted by one of these currently.

It's not as quick, but it delivers the power a lot differently. There's a lot of low end, but then a good kick at around 4k. There's certainly enough speed if you want to have a good blast, but overtaking slower cars takes a bit more thought than if I was in the Clio. Mine was dyno'd at 176bhp last year.

If you can get a good one, do it. I'm really glad I did.

Your friends tvr makes me tent. He must have balls the size of watermelons.

Beamer looks great, hopefully tightening up the steering will improve things a lot. My zed's a bit "loose" until you put sport mode on. Then it's 90x better.

We told him to buy the tvr as a joke when he said he wanted a new toy to replce his mk1 golf. The joke got out of hand when he bought one lol. It's an animal.

Newer than that I'd imagine dude. I also plan to buy in December, garage until april, use it all summer, then re-garage and sell at the start of the next summer. Hopefully not losing a dime!

E46 rack is a must, I don't know what it handles like as standard but mines had the conversion and the turn-in is great! Z3 shifter is another good upgrade.

  need BRAKES? PM me
This is fantastic, such a great shape and looks proper tidy :approve:

Btw let me know when you're looking at the brakes as I might be able to save you a few quid on the Brembo prices you quoted

4.0 Chim's are all noise and no action.

My uncle had one when I was young, and I loved it, every time he went out in it, I had to go with him. And I always said growing up that one day I'll own the same car as my uncle Martin, well, here it is! Only have the photos from the advert at the moment, and I pick it up next Sunday, I'm like a child at Christmas, can't wait for it.

I know exactly what you mean! My godfather had one similar (320i cab) from new, back in 1989. When he used to visit, I'd help out and offer to wash the car. That novelty very quickly ran out however, through cleaning those same b*****d alloys that you have on!

Nice find m8 - hope it serves you well!

Cheers Darren.

Yeah, going to have it's first clean next week before it goes to the ring, not looking forward to cleaning the alloys at all.

Lovely looking car there. Reminds me that I saw an old red BM at the weekend but have no idea what it was, 6 series? I'll post a pic in a bit, just restoring my phone
