Not done much with Clio, I know it won't be done this season so no rush.
Been collecting parts ready to build up.
Mostly bits needed to build the engine up, new NGK-R's, ARP rod bolts, cam seals, belt kit and dephaser. Also a set of tappets as I wasn't convinced by the ones that were in the engine.
New water pump
Got the rocker cover painted up in the customary red.
Breather plate modified, just need to run it through the parts washer and paint it.
Got the arp bolts fitted and refitted the sump with new gasket. New tappets in and rockers refitted. Just need to put the rocker cover back on and time it up with new belt and it's sorted.
Diff has arrived also to rebuild the 'box to its previous spec, going to my gearbox guy once he's finished a customers 'box, hence the mk3 Clio gripper in the pic.
Gearbox parts are all here too, shorter 5th gear(s), new linkage pivot bush/circlip and new 5th gear cover and seal.
In alternative news, the van is fixed (again) after going engine rebuild it was running sweet until the ecu decided to pack in, putting 2 and 2 together I think it's been the cause or effect of the faulty injector and therefore holed piston previously. Second hand unit off eBay all coded to suit by my tame Ford Tech and it's alive again. Have s couple of small jobs to sort but it should be like brand new! Even gave it a wash, looks good when it's clean.
Alternative news 2 is I've decided to sell the civic racer I have as well. Getting this car back was unexpected and I want to concentrate on developing the Clio now so the cash will be most welcome!
Alternative news 3 is I'm sick of not having a road car, I have a company vehicle for daily duties and the Mrs has a new BMW 320d sport touring but I've got FA. So I've just put a deposit down on this
Alpina B3 3.3 E46 Saloon, 1 of 95 built for the UK and 1 of only 2 in Techno Violet built worldwide. Just need a day off from work to actually pic it up. Was looking at R26 meganes then 130's and then spotted this, for the money and being a BMW nut thought it was worth a punt. Still on the lookout for a 'keeper' BMW, either a Z3M Coupe or an absolutely perfect E36 Evo M3 coupe.
