Bought an engine for it yesterday, probably got 70bhp on the Clio!

That will rustle a few feathers in the Nippons. Was that your plan Russ, or racing in the 750 Civic series?

None of the above. Vtec challenge or tintops probably and use the Clio for Tricolore and or 750 hot hatch.

Not been hanging around.
Got the seat and harness back in.
Got the wiring back in for the Dash 2, the external GPS sensor and go pro wiring. Just need to re fit the dash.
Seen as @Damo-172cup left his name on it on purpose unthought if get that off asap!
Got the grubby new engine on the stand and started stripping it down, just gonna keep it the same spec as it was before, have the cams ready to go in, just need to get some arp rod bolts and the usual bits, cambelt kit and dephaser, new plugs, sump gasket etc. oh yeah engine is full of oil too! Damo, tell your mate thanks!

Yeah had a look, think it's still getting off the ground, it used to be a good series a few years ago but they stopped running it. Obviously races at all the popular tracks and is a familiar format. There are a few quick fiestas in there at the minute and the Clio is only approx 230bhp/tonne with Class A being up to 260bhp/tonne but think it'd hold its own on most circuits.

Ahh right I was looking at the 200bhp/tonne class. The tracks are really appealing the next one is August 6/7 at Cadwell I am trying to be ready for them but it will be a push!

Running out of bits to do until I get some bits.
Got the dash refitted though and wired back up.
New battery and cage fitted with charger plug.
Will get the engine built back up this week once the bits turn up and rocker cover gets its usual coat of red paint.
More importantly need to get the van back together. As suspected it has holed a piston. Number 3 actually.
Common problem it seems, new piston on order £66 bargain for a new one. Just all the other bits required to build it back up, head gasket and bolts, new clutch and flywheel, other various gaskets and bolts + complete set of fluids and filters. Currently looks like this.

Not done much with Clio, I know it won't be done this season so no rush.
Been collecting parts ready to build up.
Mostly bits needed to build the engine up, new NGK-R's, ARP rod bolts, cam seals, belt kit and dephaser. Also a set of tappets as I wasn't convinced by the ones that were in the engine.
New water pump
Got the rocker cover painted up in the customary red.
Breather plate modified, just need to run it through the parts washer and paint it.
Got the arp bolts fitted and refitted the sump with new gasket. New tappets in and rockers refitted. Just need to put the rocker cover back on and time it up with new belt and it's sorted.
Diff has arrived also to rebuild the 'box to its previous spec, going to my gearbox guy once he's finished a customers 'box, hence the mk3 Clio gripper in the pic.
Gearbox parts are all here too, shorter 5th gear(s), new linkage pivot bush/circlip and new 5th gear cover and seal.
In alternative news, the van is fixed (again) after going engine rebuild it was running sweet until the ecu decided to pack in, putting 2 and 2 together I think it's been the cause or effect of the faulty injector and therefore holed piston previously. Second hand unit off eBay all coded to suit by my tame Ford Tech and it's alive again. Have s couple of small jobs to sort but it should be like brand new! Even gave it a wash, looks good when it's clean.
Alternative news 2 is I've decided to sell the civic racer I have as well. Getting this car back was unexpected and I want to concentrate on developing the Clio now so the cash will be most welcome!
Alternative news 3 is I'm sick of not having a road car, I have a company vehicle for daily duties and the Mrs has a new BMW 320d sport touring but I've got FA. So I've just put a deposit down on this
Alpina B3 3.3 E46 Saloon, 1 of 95 built for the UK and 1 of only 2 in Techno Violet built worldwide. Just need a day off from work to actually pic it up. Was looking at R26 meganes then 130's and then spotted this, for the money and being a BMW nut thought it was worth a punt. Still on the lookout for a 'keeper' BMW, either a Z3M Coupe or an absolutely perfect E36 Evo M3 coupe.
Fear not, more Clio stuff coming soon.

Yeah, car should be lighter and more powerful than it has been previously once I build a 'proper' engine for it. I'm not commiting myself to any series until I see the dates for next year.

Updates, previously mentioned Alpina has gone tits up so less said about that the better.
Got the engine back together as far as I could. Cams in, new belt and dephaser kit fitted along with all new cam seals and hydraulic lifters.
Just need to finish painting the breather plate and fit my new alternator and it's done.
Gearbox is away getting built and I'm just waiting for the Pure Motorsport guys to get back off holiday so I can get some shiny bits!
Sent all the AST's away to Cornering Force for a full strip/rebuild.
Gonna go through all the bearings while the suspensions off so it's 100% fresh.

Engine done and waiting for the gearbox to come back.
AST's are back from being rebuilt now. Just waiting for a different set of front springs before I put the fronts back together.
Currently looks like this.
Just putting the rear beam back together with the rebuilt dampers and Pms anti-roll bar that I kept hold of. Rear beam bearings are good so a few jobs ticked off.
Hopefully get the front subframe and arms off this week and go through all the bearings and tidy them up.
Got another project on the go as well, bought myself a nice RS200 in my perfect spec. Low mileage Glacier white FF with cup pack, cup spoiler, speedlines and recaros. Predictably I'm going to put a megane turbo engine in it, off to collect one tomorrow all being well. Will start a new thread shortly.

And all the 'ugly' removed, wind deflectors, renaultsport and dealer stickers and black roof wrap.
It's going to be a road car so no cages or anything for this one, just improving what's there and giving it the engine it should've had in the first place.

Gearbox is supposed to be done Wednesday so can hopefully drop the engine back in. Need to order my missing bits from Nick @Pure Motorsport tomorrow, exhaust and manifold + ITB's.
Still need to go through the front suspension and sort a few little bits like a new battery cut off and extinguisher but we're not far away.
Some cosmetic bits, wheels are looking a bit shabby so all 3 sets going to be blasted and powder coated. 2 sets stripped ready, just need to do the other set of OZ's.

It's that time of year when next years provisional racing calendars are released and at the moment the 750mc calendar looks awesome. Hopefully the hot hatch series will run at all circuits listed and it's what I'm aiming for now for 2017. Dates as below.

Looking at Calendars and regs for 2017, holidays, an extension and other things going on next year, so got to work around that lot.

Not much going on, broke my leg between xmas and new year and have been out of action since. I'm going to miss the start of the season whichever way I look at it so not sure what to do now. Can't do anything at the minute though!
Took a pic of my freshly powder coated wheels whilst I was convincing myself I could spanner with a broken leg in the garage this afternoon.
