My New Steed: Trophy #321

Chi

  Z4, VW172, R26
It does mate. I had to laugh. Chi dropped me off in the Trophy which looked utterly epic under the sun today and it's parked next to this 13 year old Puma with some stonechips and some rust. Honestly? I never even gave the T a second glance.

It'll be better than the Frp in 9/10 departments and my needs although this Frp seems stunningly well damped for some reason, the T was a tad "bouncy". Always remembered the Puma being harsh, this feels lovely.

Anyway you can see what i'm saying. It has a special feeling. Oh and that f**king gearbox. Just unreal.

Bouncy? I think you mean sure footed and purposeful.. ;) Im loving it!

No it's not bouncy, it's very compliant which is a good thing, it's just a weird sensation with the Trophy. It moves well with bumps and lumps on the road, it's never crashy.

Have you been in one Leeroy. They do range from 4k to like 10k which is a bit mental!

Once pal, only once and that was enough tbh.

Are the only 4 cars I've ever driven which come close to have fun a FRP really is.

Yeah price is the only downside, seems you've got to give big bucks for a spotless one, but is there really such a thing? after all Tickford did build them ha

Indeed mate. I have all receipts from when it was first purchased (The plate has been on since it was registered) she had many complaints about the car. It was hand built at the end of the day and i'm not sure she expected it to look handbuilt.

£24500 she paid for the car plus a T1 cobra alarm system using the standard key fob, Reg plate and chip tapes. Mental cost!

Lots of parts being fitted on Thursday night, then i'll see where i'm going from there.

Negative. Not a fan mate on my roads. It can be a tad grabby just not really needed for what I use the car for. On track imo it would come alive.

I never found any of my hondas with LSD grabby, to be fair.
And I live in the middle of the cotswolds, so roads are.. interesting.

What kind of diff did they use, out of interest?

It's actually a Ford part and I understand Quaife made a lot of Ford ones in the past but it's a 909 part which means it was built for this car. A S2 Escort RST one can fir with machining work.

Why isn't there a thread of need yet, Kev.

I'm disappointed in you.

Lols. I'm not like I used to be. Had too much on the past week mate, too many fingers too many pies!

It bloody well better have been. Enough to give you a heart attack below...

ETA: congrats mate, speaking from experience it's nice going back to what you know and enjoy.

It's a better advert on PH but it's been removed now.
