Update tiiiiiime, Well ive been without a phone up until recently thus meaning no camera, but, its back, so returns my camera phone updates
There's a lot of pictures here, and im not even 100% sure which order they're meant to be in, but Il try my best.
So after the last update I had the Diff welded (blasphemy!) and with zero practice turned up at buxton raceway, on the way down I started getting nervous, then I got there and saw the track, which is actually a banger racing track, so has high steel walls all the way around, To quote one of the organisers, "Hit a wall at 15mph you'll break whatever hits it hit the wall at 30mph youl do some serious damage, hit it at 60mph which is typical entry speed and you'll write the car off" So with these words i threw him the keys and let him have a go, and he linked the whole track.... with smoke n all. So now the pressure was on me and well, it went badly, nearly hit the wall backwards, and span lots, but then i totalled my clutch, so had to retire for the day. Never mind huh.... buxton pics = poooooooor quality pics, this is what happens when your friends have blackberrys.
On our way down.
"my attempts"
Getting ready to line up.
At this point i was running all my strut braces, but after that day I had to remove the full under body one as it was simply catching way too much, so if anyone wants to buy it PM me.
Then I got hold of a cheap bucket seat... no pics
for £40 off a friend, its a proper old skool sparco but I like the design so it can stay for a few months.
I replaced the tyres I wrecked on the BBS and invested in some TSW venoms as drifty wheels. As modeled here by my friend Robyn, you can sort of see the seat too.
A few random snaps with friends cars.
It pretty much stayed like this but with the BBS on for a month until I started getting an itch that I needed to scratch, which was an Exhaust, I picked a kakimoto up from "mx5nutz" on here with the backbox wadding removed, I love the sound but I hate the tip, luckily there is a tip inside a tip so i need to cut the outer sleeve off, but thats for another day. Another itch was a hardtop, id always wanted one and at buxton me and "titch" had discussed his, which wasnt perfect but made for a good project, so i nabbed that off him for £200, baring in mind it needs a fair bit of work I was happy. The following pictures were as the car sat for a fair while, nothing special, not overly low, quite clean and just a bit meh these were taken at a "northwest automotive" mini meet, mainly a facebook group of friends but its sort of become a fair bit bigger then initially expected. Anyone in the Northwest feel free to join us on the facebook group.
With a mates 306
A very small selection of the cars.
the haribo kid in the passenger seat.
Pretty sure alan from the hangover is stood behind the car.
Messy interior shot.
japcannnnnnn
A bit of 2am Fun.
Then I got annoyed and figured i had enough money saved to get some wheels, Choices were 3sdms, sportmaxx if i could find some, Grid v's in black or the rota BM8 in a manly size. Then I got a text off a mate asking If I knew anyone who wanted his sportmaxx, 5 wheels 5 tyres £400 without even thinking i snapped them up, only issue is he ran 55 profile tyres..... fail. This means even with my extreme scaffolding pole skills and arch buggering skills, I still scrub.... only a little, especially when going lock to lock or over extreme bumps. that shall be adressed when the 55s are bald though.
Early on with no roll.
Then after a day of beating back lips, and rolling arches, and screwing up paint I gave up and raised the car a touch, until i get the 50's. But also my KG works spoiler turned up, yayyyyyy.
final pics.
Ive also completely removed my soft top now, and I am loving the space that's created.
