# My Official Diary Of Ownership 2! - Liquid Yellow 182 #

  Italian 3.2 V6
Ok, So here's my second dairy of ownership! couldnt resist getting another MK2 Clio RS as i loved my last one so much. couple months back i was on the search for a "mint" Liquid yellow (always wanted to own this colour) 182. When i meant "mint" i meant low miles, perfect condition, low previous owner history, paint pannels perfect, more or less standard and mint interior with everything working! and FSH etc and garaged!

The previous owner JayR then PM'd me after i put up a wanted thread! a week or so later after great convo and interigation with him i had made a deal to buy the LY off of him if all was said was correct! From what he said and showed with pics it seemed to fit the bill perfectly and there wasnt another LY182 out there which would of touched it!
So the day came to go and pick it up, what a bloody ball ache of a travel! 12 hour round trip but after the 1st six and collecting the car i new it was all well worth it! so when i got there and introduced to JayR he then pulled the baby out the garage and showed me around her, i instantly fell in love and had to have it lol. showed me inside and took me out for a spin in it i knew i was going to be taking it home that day! so once i had done the paperwork etc with him before i new it i was driving my new baby home! what a great journey home!

Compared to my old PH2 172 the whole car just feels alot better in every single way.. felt more solid, gearbox is beautiful on this 182, so precise! clutch slightly lighter brakes are sharper, ride quality is better, no steering play what so ever and best bit it pulls ALOT better aswell! the power is delivered to much better than my last 172. so i was well chuffed and over the moon with my new purchase! i knew this was the car i was after and cant believe how lucky i was to find it so easy and quickly!

Must thank the cliosport forum for this tbh.. wouldnt of happened without it!

So without any more rambling on here are the 1st pics i took of it the day after i got it and the spec of the car.

a little info on the 182.
-30k on the clock
-04 platep
-im the 3rd owner
-standard bar superchip and BMC filter (still on standard zorst)
-both cup packs
-all options barr recors and satnav.
-near enough new PE2's all round
-got 40.2 MPG on way home from essex. getting mid 30's atm!
-HPI clear and FSH with belts etc all done!

So anyway a week later and that weekend the buyer (best mate) of my old 172 picked it up and i went with him to his. He wanted to clean the cars and the 172 was due some rear disks and pads, so me Casson182 and he got to work. Here is some of the pics of the day, didnt manage to get any of the 172 once cleaned or pics with cars together as it started to pissin rain! but here are some pics of the morning at Clioville!

New Silvertech bulbs fitted!!!

so plans for the car are not exactly to mod it like i did last one, more subtle mods and this year i want to spend money on doing things with the car rather than on mods for the car, also obv to keep everything mint and keep ontop of any issues and just to basically keep it mint and clean!!

i am on the hunt for some treadline recaros for it tho so keep me in mind if u plan to sell any ;)

already in the proccess of getting a cumbria meet organised this feb and am booked in to do the LeMans trip this june! cant wait for that!

cheers for reading! thanks

# LY182 UPDATE! #

So since iv had the LY182, one bad thing has happend, the Cruise Control stopped working. The switch decided it didnt want to click in anymore, it just popped back out as soon as i let go, so orderd a new switch which only costed a few £ (arrived within a few days) and hey presto the Cruise Control is now in good working order! :D getting good MPG with this CC aswell, currently achieving 45.6MPG :D which is all the more excellent! (obv set to 29mph or 59mph depending in which speed limit zones are about.)

Tuesday i had BSC 182 come along to fit some Eibech Prolines i bought last week to the LY182. i chose these over the sportlines as when i had them on my old 172 they seemed abit crashy.. plus i want to keep the car looking standard and only do subtle mods :) the way forward me thinks! so yea got them fitted only took couple hours. Glad to say they are bang on! tbh there alot better ride to standard! stiffer yet odly comfer, they seem to take the bumps in the road better than standard springs, less crashy yet still firmer :S, they only droped the car 10-15mm but im happy with the results! especially as i got them for £80 delivered ;)

On Wed i decided to ordered a load of good cleaning gear planning on giving the car a good bloody clean inside and out today as there are tar spots and i can feel the paint has day to day contamination in it. So orderd some zaino Detailing clay, DoDo super slippy stuff and Swisswax wax etc etc :D but unfortunatly it hasnt arrived so will have to wait untill next sat to do it now :( gutted! But never the less i still gave her a wash and a hoover out inside so shes still looking in mint condition! :D oh yea and bought another yellow smelly tree to match the car! ;)

I also have in proccess a number plate transfer and have recieved my new small thin number plate to fit in reccess perfectly so just waiting on new TAX disk and paper work to arrive to fit that :D so that should be done for next weekend aswell!

My mate who is the proud owner of my old 172 (pics etc above) came over to join in on the fun and as it was such a beautiful day weather wise, we headed to good old carlisle airport just down the road to take some groovy snaps in the sun!

So here they all are! INJOY! (sorry for poo quality, shitty uploader!)

Was this from Southend Direction? If so it's a well looked after example

It was mine Dave! Dunno whos the one is in Sarfend unless your on about me! lol

Looks cracking Piers mate! Will look even better when you get some Matte Black Trophy Turini's or refurb the currents! ;)

Glad she went to an home like yours.

  172 cup
Glad you like the springs fella. You got a good buy at £80 delivered, but I got them with some koni adjustables which I paid £66 delivered ;) now that was a real bargain

Yea, would like some turini's but not to fussed as ino st wheels will look just as good... Things is it will cost £180-200 to get them refurbed or I could swap these for some already black turin's for less so which would be more ideal, not in any rush mind.

But yea, me 2 ;)

Riley - wish u told me earlier ;) lol, haggling FTW!

Not nessarily mate as these black Turinis will more than likely be the cup ones and you'll need new tyres which will set you back at least £400! If you get the Trophy ones they are exactly the same size as the 182 wheels (the cup wheels arnt and you'll need spacers/tyres) so you could just transfer the PE2's over which will save you a fortune in good tyres!

Get some Trophy ones on the cheap and have the matte black refurb yourself and you'll have a lovely set of mint wheels plus the tyres you have now for 4/500 gibs! ;)

For me it was a must do this summer if i kept the car.

f**k didnt no the cup turinis meant i had to have diff size tyres! thanks that could of been an expensive mistake! lol. so if a cheap pair of trophy turinis come along i may snap them up, either that or just refurb standard wheels.

Awesome Piers. Brilliant drive eh !

I seriously thought my brakes were going to set on fire after that run over birker fell, Ive never seen that much smoke come from a set of brakes.

Perfect colour combo for the 3 Clios. Red, Yellow, Blue, they look really smart together.

P.S I embarrased a 911 Turbo on the way home, I wish you were there to see it Piers, It hammered me on the straights but wimped out in the corners, I felt quite proud of myself.

Lol. I noticed you hung back from me until Birker Fell (due to stone chips) and then you started pushing me, So I went for it ! My brakes felt the punishment, haha. I could smell them a couple of miles before I got out and checked them, they went a bit spongey.

That car looks amazing in LY, i'll have to keep an eye out for you kicking about mate, it looks stunning. Wouldn't mind coming along to a meet either, some of my fave roads been taken in today by the looks of things, see how the 172 performs along there compared to the old Scooby.
