Near side front drive shaft removal

  Clio 182 FF Orange
Hi guys

Jus a quick question

I am having to replace my drive shaft (passenger side) is it a case of empty gearbox oil
Undo 2 bolts for ball joint to wishbone
Undo the 3 gearbox bolts on shaft boot
Remove the already loose hub nut
Aim the shaft below the gearbox and whack with hammer

My question is do these ever get stuck in the hub? And will it affect the wheel bearing removing the shaft?

Thanks

I wouldn't drain the whole gearbox as when you take the shaft out your only loose a bit (it's not as low as the drain plug) I personally get the shaft out with a pry bar but if it's fucked anyway a hammer won't hurt just be careful of the Diff seals

I doubt it will get stuck in the bearing a bit of wd will help but a circlip should stop the bearing coming out
