need advice:running mids with a amp

i have a 60x4 alpine headunit - iv got nice set of alpine front speckers, not sure if there top of the range. iv got a 4xchannel alpine 400w amp running a 12"sub. Im happy with the base & mids

but just wanted to know, will it make alot of differnce if i amp up the front mids, as 2 channels are not being used.

If you have the channel spare to do this then why not ? its certainly not going to decrease the quality of the sound in any way thats for sure =)

The alpine headunits that say 60 watt are peak figures, only about 20 rms (not sure of exact number). The speakers should be capable of handling a fair bit more power so running them through the amp should make quite a bit of difference.

Each of the channels has 100w power output so at the moment 2 channels will be connected to your subs giving 200w total output from your amp. If you connect your other 2 channels to your front speakers you will be making better use of your amp.

You will need to make sure when connecting your front speakers that you set up any options such as equaliser/input gains for the currently unused channels.
